The car tore down the road, desperately evading pursuit. Five vehicles gave chase, unleashing a dense hail of bullets that made Ye Xiong's heart leap into his throat.
Yang Xinyi and Tang Ning were crouched in the back, and he had no idea if they were injured.
Ye Xiong had never been hunted down like this in his entire life. "Don't let me find out who's coming after me," he growled, "or I swear this won't be over."
Seeing a side alley, Ye Xiong swerved into it. He had hoped to shake his pursuers by taking a shortcut, but to his dismay, a truck parked ahead completely blocked the way. There was no exit.
"Damn it."
Ye Xiong jumped out of the car, yanked open the back door, and pulled out the scared-witless Yang Xinyi and Tang Ning. "Run!" he yelled.
But Tang Ning couldn't move; her chest was covered in blood. Ye Xiong was startled. He quickly checked her wound and found it was just a graze from a bullet, which made him breathe a sigh of relief.
