Clark stepped out of the fractured domain, glass-like fragments still falling around him in slow motion.
Yet as his foot landed on solid ground, the world around him clicked back into place as if nothing had changed.
The wind blew softly, birds chirped in the distance, and the light of the sun painted the sky gold—serene, untouched.
But he knew better. It was a lie.
A mocking laugh echoed across the heavens.
"Hahaha… I admit you're quite capable, Clark," came the voice of the woman, now bodiless, intangible, as though carried by the wind itself. "But my heavenly treasure isn't so easily undone. Did you really think breaking it once would be enough?"
Her physical form was gone, not a trace of her left to target. She had retreated, hidden behind layers of safeguards, likely channeling her power from a distant location. She had foreseen this. Planned for him. But perhaps she hadn't planned enough.
Clark exhaled slowly, a smirk forming on his lips.
