Chapter 850 - Chapter 95: Squid and Captive

The names that squid give themselves are usually indescribable in human language. These cephalopods, endowed with intelligence due to human alteration surgeries, retain their unique visual capability, or rather, their photoreceptive ability—the humans who modified them didn't install much mechanical parts, allowing them to keep their eyes and skin.

The complex organ of the "eye" may have independently appeared multiple times throughout evolutionary history.

The squid's eyes have a different origin than mammalian eyes. Their body structure gives rise to a unique W-shaped eye which provides them with a wide-angle view and incredibly special ability to differentiate the polarization of light in a more detailed manner.
