Bang!
After Mary Scott said those words of regret, she immersed herself in her own emotions. She had already decided that there would be no future for her and David Locke; forcing themselves to stay together would only bring more pain. However, she didn't notice the intense emotions overflowing from her words, infuriating the man beside her.
David Locke suddenly slammed on the brakes. The screeching sound of the tires against the road was deafening. Mary Scott, unprepared, hit her head against the front of the car with a bang. Tears welled in her eyes from the pain, and she glared angrily at David. "What the hell are you doing?"
Didn't this man know that suddenly braking on a main road was extremely dangerous? Did he not care for his life, let alone others'?
