"Alright, I'm heading back now," Wong Qifu said, standing up.
The table was a complete mess, having been wiped clean by the two of them.
"Be careful on the road," Xu Ke said.
"Aren't you going to ask me to stay the night?" Wong Qifu asked, looking at Xu Ke as the words tumbled out unexpectedly.
Xu Ke touched his nose. "I don't have a second bed."
Wong Qifu said nothing, just stared at him.
Xu Ke felt his skin crawl under her gaze and said helplessly, "I'm afraid a spark might start a fire."
To be honest, he didn't really trust his own self-control.
"Silly boy." Wong Qifu suddenly leaned in, whispering in his ear, "But this sister isn't afraid."
Her fragrance wafted into his nostrils, and it felt as if his blood had frozen solid. He swallowed with difficulty.
Xu Ke was suddenly struck with the urge to pull her into his arms, but Wong Qifu didn't give him the chance.
She suddenly retreated, looking at him with a playful smile. "But you've missed your chance."
