Gu Nian gave a soft, almost amused chuckle. "What are you talking about?"
"You were behind it," Fu Jian said quietly. "The kidnapping. You set me up."
Gu Nian's jaw tightened, but he didn't answer.
"Don't lie to me," Fu Jian snapped, voice rising. "You think I don't see it? The guilt in your eyes? You're acting like you picked up a stray dog. But you knew exactly where I was. You knew."
Still silent.
"Let me out of this car," Fu Jian said, his voice deadly calm now.
"Let me out, or I swear to God, I'll kill you before this car even makes it past the next turn."
Gu Nian finally spoke, eyes still fixed on the road.
"Stay still, Fu Jian. You've already done enough damage."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Fu Jian growled, fingers slowly curling into fists.
Gu Nian gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles pale against the leather.
"I lost my job because of you," he said, his voice low and bitter.
