Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Ember's memory lane?

In the evening of the day. A youthful brunette photographer wearing a keyhole top and a lengthy skirt with exuberant colors entered her teacher's office in his grand church. She reaches his office and happens upon one of the moments of his singing while clinging to his memories of their past yet curious after being told that he was staying in the wondrous cities of the ill-fated continent. "

The enchanting floral smelling photographer entered the throne chambers of her beloved mentor's castle and saw the lemon chiffon scholar floating in the air as if he was seated in a chair. "You would like a favor from me?" Mara gulliver boo asked her scholarly mentor. The lemon chiffon scholar ceased humming his melancholic tune and turned around to face her. "Oh, Yes, I'm searching this place for a significant clue. Oh, yes, I wanted to see those breasts. Oh yes, Hello Mara Gulliver boo, please, do you need a rest, you?" Her exuberant mentor sang and simultaneously answered her question. The bygone photographer sighed with disapproval. "When you're in a rhythmic mood is the only time that I can't stand you. Master Advay, give it a rest sir, you were also incredibly off tune. Give a gal something worth being stuck in her head if you've gotta annoy her— at least?" The loud photographer replied out with her tone conveying how frustrated she found herself.

The bygone lemon chiffon scholar scoffed. "I've got some pretty boys for you to capture in those lenses of yours and a fine young lady to jump into the intrusive thoughts of while you're there." The mentor answered, refusing to cease his rhymes with a grin on his face while forming sculptures of her targets made with amethyst crystals that came out of the blue. Mara's eyes lit up with excitement as she grabbed out her camera from the large bag she kept hanging on her right hip. "I'm not willing to break my word just for your entertainment, chief." Mara asked her mentor for further clarification. The lemon chiffon scholar of a bygone era nodded before stepping towards his previous student. "Every guy I've seen you go after has had subpar faces but if tender eyed men are what you go after then judge these brothers yourself." The lemon chiffon mentor began with a mumble in a mocking tone before he lightly chuckled.

Mara gulliver boo lightly sighed. "Fine." She responded as she fixed her eyes on a duo holding a blank expression and beaming grin, "Something you see in these guys?" Mara asked with a curious tone. Advay began tapping one leg over the other. "Something would be an understatement, obviously there's more to it than that— It's been a while since I've checked on you. You've always excelled at applying the essence to the mind unlike the others." He answered after humming his tune. Mara gulliver boo tipped her hat. "You want me to perform the vetting process, huh, gotcha sir." Said Mara while she surged her lemon chiffon essence in the form of static electricity around herself, "Oh, right, here back within the god's favorite realms— how's the apprentice from here that you mentioned ages ago?" She asked with a sincere ignorance and curiosity.

Advay shaped his lemon chiffon essence into a stick of dynamite and tossed it at a nearby wall before leaning back and wiping his eyes. "That bastard?" He had asked rhetorically with the dawn of a frustrated tone, "I'll fill you in on the way, right now, !" Her mentor Advay responded and finished infuriated and angrily when informing Mara about what he learned about his apprentice's fate that is still unknown to him of the cause which to him is a contender next to him being gone. Mara held downcasted eyes on her as she gently massaged her chin. "Oh— what—?!" Mara Gulliver asked in a low tone, "Fill me in regarding the finer details on the way." She finished with a determined tone. Mara left after tipping the brim of her beloved floppy hat before exiting his church soaring the sky.

The lemon chiffon scholar walked to a portrait of him and the majority of his past students in frame with himself. "Ambroise— with the forgotten knowledge of his favor for humanity, what happened to you?" Advay angrily reminded himself in his head, "So, what could have killed him, then?" The man finished and pondered in his head, while squinting his eyes.

The eleventh of the month, on a busy yet fairly average night, it was severely windy. The determined Trio was patrolling the streets until they received a distress call informing them that giant glowing spiders, the size of a man's head were attacking the area where the police called from compelling the spectacular Trio to rush their way over immediately. The Trio had arrived and remained vigilant, watching as spiders exactly how the Generil officer who contacted the team had described were the cause of public chaos and panic to the people and surroundings.

The Oath's Sanguine Marksman shuttered as he held an expression of repulsion. "Gotta always be arachnid intruders—!" Said Artus as he conjured a military grade sniper rifle. Ember snickered as she approached. "We have no time for your childish fear of spiders, little guy!" She said as she readied herself to dash towards the hairy legged beasts with a sharp edged claymore conjured in her hands, "These things are attacking everyone, we must stop them before they kill someone!" Ember yelled as she dashed intending to swiftly to bloody her sword with the spiders as its victims. Artus felt thankful that he was given the ability to form swords and could keep his distance from the hideous mutants. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon spun his desert eagles "You shockingly fell in love with that socially awkward spider-woman a while ago, Art, yet a few oversized tarantulas got you drawing the line?" Lyle asked as he began spraying the swarming arachnid reinforcements missing only one otherworldly intruder.

Lyle slightly grinned from his joke. Artus was taken aback. "Agh, you know she did something called chemical bewitching." Artus asked Confusedly. Lyle remained silent as he gripped his key in one hand and his sharp dagger in the other, leaping twenty five feet above him to perform pest control. "Stop hanging out with Ember— she's not the best influence on you, dude." Artus finished in jest as he transformed his sniper into dual handguns and began unloading their clips into the final batch of tarantulas with a disgusted expression worn on his face. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon worked on his precision by finishing the fewer smaller spiders with his throwing knives. "Yeah. She can be audacious sometimes. A lovely gal other times." Lyle sounded as he retrieved the blades. Oath's Blue-stocking Blade finished slaying a duo of larger tarantulas after conjuring a German zweihander. "Shut up and fight goons, there's too many of these disgusting things for chit chat!" Ember demanded after interrupting her younger brothers. The Oath's Sangfroid Paragon reloaded his twin pistols. "Nah. Chit chat helps your little brother keep his courage while facing these guys." Lyle denied his elder sister's order. Artus conjured a sniper rifle as swift as he could and managed to finish the last remaining few ready to pounce on his elder sister from above. "He understands it." He shouted from his vantage point while Ember took a glance at the spiders he saved her from a moment ago. The Trio realized they've exterminated the otherworldly pests wreaking havoc on a local business and soon after their exhaustion. Their peers on the division that cleans their operations regarding monstrous situations arrived.

Mara watched the Trio leap across the buildings from a distance. "Powers beyond the grasps of other mortals and you sending big tarantulas for a show?" Mara commented as she followed the Trio. "Your ears must've stopped when they were discussing how the gunner despises spiders?" Mara heard her mentor reply. Mara released a heavy sigh. "I could take them all somewhere and do each of them together, however, you honestly want me to only focus on the girl?" She had asked with genuine curiosity, "She'd be the most dazzled from the experience but in all seriousness— she's in need of it the most." Mara heard from the voice of her mentor telepathically. The visiting photographer

-

The next morning, Ember awoke and then proceeded to her usual activities before she and her brothers got called on the job. Ember, took a shower, ate her breakfast and did the usual before going out to work. While drinking her coffee, she realized one thing, she hadn't heard Artus' big mouth or any noise from Lyle's morning shadow boxing ritual. She found it weird, she found it odd, she goes to their rooms but finds nothing but a note left on Artus' bed. It changed her mood. Meanwhile, Artus and Lyle wake up and find themselves, outside of their apartment in the diverse city of Generil, somewhere else unfamiliar to either of them.

Artus woke up laying on his back while his feet were sat on a wall. "Ugh, I feel like I was thrown into a wall!" Said Artus with a tone filled with pain. He soon realized his brother was next to him and still slumbering. "No, Iona! Stop for a moment!!" Lyle screamed from the top of his lungs, reaching out with one hand as he woke up from dreaming. The two woke up behind bars. A cell that resembled an ordinary modern jail. Oath's Sanguine Marksman ceased attempting to bend the cell bars and glanced at his brother with a lost expression after hearing him shout. "Iona on your mind?" Artus asked in jest. "..." Lyle stared at his brother with blank eyes before then attempting to jump to a brand new unrelated topic, "I can't— teleport out?!" He asked himself, finding himself curious as to how someone managed to disable their abilities.

Artus sat on a bench as he gently rubbed his chin with his thumb and index finger. "Huh— bars, benches and a nearby spiral staircase?" Artus noted aloud under his breath as he observed further. Lyle sighed as leaned against a wall clasping his hands. "Where's your love for dungeons stemming from, dude?" He asked his brother. Artus swiftly snapped before shrugging hearing the denial in his tone. "Then what is this place, 'cause it's pretty obvious as a dungeon connoisseur as myself, dude." Artus asked as a response.

Artus felt tender hands caress his face and turn his head towards the spiral staircase he noticed first to the sight of bare feet and hearing giggling. "The reaction I expected, handsome— brilliant deductive showcase as well." They heard from the mysterious person in a one shoulder dress and colorful brim hat.

Artus stared at the peculiar camera she wore around her neck. "So warm and soft, do it again please?" Artus replied with a beaming smile and his eye wide. Lyle held an expressionless stare. "You're the lady that I kinda remember I was chasing in my dream, I think!" Artus stated still in an excited manner, Artus' face changed into a disturbed one as he placed two facts together. "You're actually real though?" He asked unfamiliar with the power he's suspecting she might be capable of having used on him and his brother.

"Ah yes, you, you're so easily titillated, I could've used any woman to manipulate you moron. That's shocking." Mara replied then a sinister, mischievous smile appeared on her face. "I don't discriminate and disqualify easily— I mean—?" Artus replied swiftly before clearing his throat. "Your brother, however, I had to dig so deep into his mind that I questioned at some point a few of my assumptions about him! I had to use clues to discover there's one out of a billion girls." Mara states in response to Artus prior to bursting into laughter.

Artus looked at Lyle, while remembering what he yelled when the two woke up earlier. Realizing some things he realized that he never realized before, Lyle shrugged with a blank face on him.

"Now all we must do is wait for your sister to arrive, then the fun can begin!" Mara informed the brothers with confidence. Sometime later... Ember arrived at the location written on the note she found, the note said "to come alone" without a threat, so Ember assumed whoever wrote it was serious and whoever took her brothers must be powerful. Ember summoned her sword and proceeded into the interesting warehouse the note led her to.

The empty place was huge, larger than on the outside, anyone who saw the outside, then entered to see the inside would be amazed by the difference. Entering, Ember entered without fear, but vigilance, amazed yet vigilant. Mara suddenly appeared in front of Ember, not even startling her however, just catching her attention.

"Whoa, Upkaar was right, you're not scared of anything, huh, girly?" Mara stated after realizing Ember wasn't even startled or caught off guard. Ember asked, "Are you the one who took my brothers, lady?" In a serious tone, "Yes, but have you not been hearing the big one yell your name?" Mara answered then asked playfully.

"UGH!" Ember noised, "What did you do to me, lady?!" Ember asked as she dropped her sword and covered her eyes. Ember's brown eyes began to hurt some, when they stopped and she opened them, the inside of the building was so much smaller than before and it looked so much different, Ember also saw and heard her brothers calling her, mostly Artus from within a cell. Ember became angry, Especially seeing her twin Artus in distress.

"Don't you dare hurt my brothers, you seductress!" Ember yelled as she swiftly dashed at Mara, with harm on her mind.

Mara stood in place as Ember dashed at her with hostility, but when Ember thrusted through with her sword, Mara combusted into an uncountable amount of dust. Dust flew all around Ember and she inhaled and breathed in so much. Mara surprised the trio when she appeared by the cell so suddenly, except for Lyle.

"I've been over here the whole time, darling, what are you doing attacking the air like that, Don't you know you can't harm it?" Mara said when she appeared from out of nowhere. Ember quickly looked and turned her way, confused and lost, until she suddenly collapsed on the floor from the dust. Lyle and Artus reacted the way one would, the two were not happy, both yelled Ember's name and tried to break out of their cell. They weren't able to at all.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Artus yelled out angrily and genuinely worried about Ember, "Whatever You did better not kill her!" Lyle yelled out the same as Artus, angrily and livid.

"Oh boys, calm down, she's only under special slumber dust." Mara assured the two calmly, "Now if you'll excuse me, I must go join your sister elsewhere." Mara stated before she somehow put herself into a deep sleep. As Artus and Lyle watched Mara's body fall to the ground, Lyle couldn't shake the feeling that he was... forgetting something... very crucial and deciding.

Ember awoke to find herself in a white void asking the question of "Where am I?" Before hearing the voice of Mara informing her of where she was, "You're inside the canvas of your mind, the part that my master's homeland studied but forbid, we can have some fun here." Mara informed her with a sincere tone.

Ember tried to summon a sword but for the first time in her life, her powers didn't work at all.

"Why are you messing with us?!" Ember yelled before she turned around and saw Mara standing right beside her, "That, I cannot tell, but let's have a walk down memory lane, shall we?" Mara answered and stated suspiciously.

"What do you mean by that, you can't actually see my memories can you?!" Ember asked back in return, "I already got a sneak peek from your brother, man... You two have practically shared your whole lives together." Mara replied, dodging Ember's thirst for some answers.

The plain void around the gorls started to change and reform into a scene familiar to Ember.

It was the night hour, next to the orphanage that Ember and Artus grew up in, there were buildings and businesses galore, homes and other things around, as well as a park they used to play in nearby.

Ember spotted a cafè nearby that read, "The best Purlieu" before she turned her head and saw a person rushing in the rain, on the empty sidewalk outside of the orphanage she grew up in.

Ember's curiosity peaked, wondering who this person walking alone was, whoever it was, wore an old fashion cloak with the hood covering their face, and they continued rushing down the sidewalk like their life depended on it.

The person passed Ember and Mara but not only acted like they didn't see them but also ran too fast for Mara and Ember to even catch a glimpse of their face.

The person ran to the orphanage wearing a sign above the entrance that read, "AeronHaven's New day Orphanage!" But they ran with intensity and rang the doorbell the closer they got.

A person immediately answered and Asked, "Yeah, who is it?" As she came out, "They're only 2 years old, their names are Ridaenael and Biytaela, please take good care of them!" Said the cloaked individual in a hurry, speaking quickly, Before storming off in a hurry, The woman took the two newly given children inside in a hurry to escape the rain.

The woman who answered the door, Ember recognized, as the reason they are where they are now.

The person who gave them up to the orphanage was killed not too long after leaving the doorstep of the orphanage, so quickly, so silently, and Ember had to witness the murder of whoever it was in full and couldn't stop it.

The murderer, like a swift ninja, jumped from rooftop to rooftop to escape, Ember couldn't do anything, Mara affirmed that it was all a part of the past, and she can't stop what has already happened.

Ember had no idea what was going on, but that didn't stop her from shedding a few tears after realizing what she had, before asking to confirm, "So... Artus and I, are the kids then?" Still in the same tone as always, "I'm afraid so, darling." Mara answered without stuttering.

"How do you feel about witnessing all of that, Ember?" Mara asked in a calm voice that had curiosity behind it, tears fell from Ember's brown eyes but she still answered, "I don't know." Without any stutter, she just stared at the body left on the ground, Unfortunately Ember couldn't move the body, as whoever it was, was in a position hiding the individual's face.

The scene suddenly changed to one that was familiar to Ember, she sees two kids that looked like her and Artus, in fact, the two kids were them.

"NO!" Ember screamed with intensity, "NOT SEVEN YEARS OLD, NOT BACK TO THIS YEAR, PLEASE!" Ember finished, Mara noticed some emotion in her voice.

"Oh?" Mara noised, "Let's see what took place then." Mara replied with curiosity.

"Artus, I bet you aren't brave enough to steal some cash from Ms.Lalatu's purse!" A child dared Artus, "I bet ya I can and get away with it!" Young Artus replied, "THEN DO IT!" The kid finished with while grinning.

Young Ember wasn't sure about it, but she followed Artus to Ms.Lalatu's office anyway to keep a look out.

Artus slowly opened the door and took a peak in before going fully inside, inside he didn't see anyone, so he went in to grab the money from her purse, which was also large.

He successfully grabbed the money but before Ember heard her, Ms.Lalatu came walking down the hallway, Ember yelled out "ARTUS!" Before Ms.Lalatu pushed her to the ground and went in.

Artus was oblivious to everything outside and not only did he not realize Ms.Lalatu was coming, but he also had no time whatsoever to hide anything.

Ms.Lalatu caught Artus and realized what he was doing as he froze up while holding the money in his hand.

She grabbed a nearby "switch" and approached him as she said "I'll teach you to never steal from a lady's purse again, young man!" Then she proceeded to give him what he deserved.

Young Ember could hear her brother's cries and yelps of pain as he gotten what he deserved, but next to her, the little boy who began the whole thing, snickered as he said, "You are as dumb as your brother!" Before going inside the room and telling Ms.Lalatu, "Ember was in on it, I heard the two talking, that's why she was outside of the room as he was stealing and yelled his name!" The little boy told without hesitation nor stuttering.

While young Artus lay on the floor in pain from his punishment, he constantly yelled while crying, "Ember had nothing to do with this, she had nothing to do with this!" But Ms.Lalatu didn't care or didn't hear.

She continued to beat both of the siblings for minutes without end.

The siblings were then sent to their rooms immediately after that without dinner that night.

"Kids can be cruel, I Should know." Mara states in an understanding tone while watching the scene with Ember.

"How does this make you feel though?" Mara asked Ember still unaffectionately, "The things Artus did after this made that rat bastard's words sting worse." Ember said with teary eyes.

"Why was this year so bad for the both of you?" Mara asked, expecting an answer from Ember, "No, Don't make me think back on it!" Ember pleaded and begged but to no avail, "You can either think back on it, or we can relive each and every day, it's up to you, time moves differently here." Mara answered back assertively.

Ember stood around pondering the choice until finally asking, "Can I give you a summary of why?" With Mara's response being, "That'll do, make it heartfelt though." With no care to how Ember feels.

"Ugh, My little brother, Artus, from when he was six to that entire year, he kept making dumb decisions, he kept acting like his brain was cut off. Letting kids bully him but When that stupid little boy compared me to him, I was confused on how to feel about it, but as time went on, and he continued acting even unexplainable, my disgust and hatred of him grew. I was somewhat depressed and hated both of them, the evil little boy who kept bullying and harassing him and Artus for falling for it all so much. I felt forced to stick with him, but he kept getting both of us in trouble and Ms.Lalatu wasn't easy on her punishments." Ember cried and broke down some as she was confronted and had confessed her feelings to this stranger who invaded her mind. Ember dropped to the floor screaming, "I can't believe I was thinking about abandoning him like that!" Genuinely crying and feeling... Feelings, emotions.

Mara stared at Ember with her facial expression giving away how she felt, she seemingly felt some enjoyment and true respect for Ember, possibly for realizing things about herself like she had, "Reminiscent to how I met that moron!" Mara said in her head as she looked down at Ember wailing on the ground.

As Ember continued crying on the ground, she tried to stop after noticing that the location changed again, "oh, is this where your feelings of Artus had changed and you became who you are now?" Mara asked Ember still unaffectionately.

Ember looked up and recognized this new memory vividly, but it was one she still tried to stuff down.

"If I read this correctly, this was only a few months before you arrived at the place that gave you another brother to take care of, right?" Mara asked Ember with a smile on her face, "Actually, S.I.O.M gave me a brother that I felt I didn't have to take care of, In fact one who could help me, Lyle with or without us, I feel could easily take care of himself." Ember answered Genuinely.

"Fascinating... Do you think he has a story of his own?" Mara questioned, "He definitely does, but he's harder to crack when it comes to emotions than it is to match his knife skills, all the torturing in the world couldn't get Lyle to crack." Ember opined heavily and strongly.

"Oh... Quiet, here is when it all starts!" Mara commanded as the adults started talking, Ember looked at Mara and asserted, "I know, this is my memory lady!" Said as if she was annoyed.

"Oh, sorry, Mr.Wight but I left my purse back at the orphanage. Would you mind watching these little ones for me while I go and get it?" Ms.Lalatu asked the worker.

"I remember this vividly, Ms.Lalatu was exhausted that day, and she always trusted this guy for some reason." Ember informed Mara as the world seemingly paused around them, "One can only guess." Mara replied. The memory resumes after Mara paused it.

"How are you kids doing today?" Asked Mr.Wright, the store cashier, Ember remained silent and took to the advice Ms.Lalatu gave them, Don't talk to strangers, but young Artus replied, "We're good!" In a friendly way.

"Oh, is that so?" Mr.Wright replied back in a less lively tone, "Hey kids, you wanna come to the back and try some pie?" Mr.Wright asked calmly and waited patiently for the two to reply.

Awkward silence took place before Artus broke up the awkward silence and answered "Sure!" To which Ember didn't like at all.

The memory paused again while Mara and Ember talked, "It was almost like Artus completely forgot everything Ms.Lalatu taught us!" Ember confessed and hated, Mara looked at Ember with a feeling of pleasure on her face as she replied back, "When we're done with this session, why don't you ask him about the reason he acted the way he did, why don't you ask him about his six year old self?" Giving off an uncomfortable atmosphere for Ember.

Ember was confused but didn't ask if she knew something, she took that as assurance that no violence would need to take place after.

"Ohh, here is one thing I saw from the big lug earlier when I took him, the story gets juicier here!" Mara Yelled after the memory continued, Ember stood watching, but annoyed by Mara's attitude toward the pain she would suffer.

"No, Artus, stay put, Don't go with him!" Ember yelled authoritatively, having Artus actually listen for once.

Mr.Wright started acting erratic, his demeanor changed from calm and collected to angry and frustrated, even the facial change was dramatic and from regular to angry, Mr.Wright started noising angry sounds before saying clearly, "That stupid bitch, I loved her, I planned on killing her alone, but now I have to kill all three of you, you're too close!" Mr.Wright bursted out all of a sudden.

Mr.Wright walked over to the siblings and grabbed up both of them, choked the two only enough to where they couldn't fight back, not enough to kill them, he took the two to the back of the store where nobody but employees are welcomed. The three were the only ones in the store at the time.

Forcefully throwing the siblings on the ground, he went looking for something to kill them and Ms.Lalatu with but took a minute to find something.

The siblings both were shook and paralyzed with fear, from being choked and thrown on the ground, thoughts of terror roamed their heads as tears from the pain and such dropped on the ground.

Mr.Wright finally found something to finish the job with, a simple yet thick crowbar they keep around the store, for reasons.

A malicious grin appeared on Mr.Wright's face as he turned around and his sight shifted from Ember, to Artus, like he couldn't decide who to, in his own sick mind, punish first.

"You little girl, can die first!" Mr.Wright yelled out as he made his way towards Young Ember, who was bawled up and crying.

Artus became furious at the thought of watching his sister get hurt, he was okay with himself getting hurt but he didn't like Ember getting hurt.

So, Artus with all his might and will tried to ignore the pain and got back on his feet to rush Mr.Wright down, trying to tackle him down with all of his might.

As he almost tackled him, he didn't succeed due to Mr.Wright hearing his yelling and quickly turning around to smack Artus in the side of the head with the crowbar, throwing him far back.

Mr.Wright was weirded out when he noticed Artus gave off a red glow, but that didn't make him stop approaching him instead of Ember.

Artus struggled but he was able to yell out, "GO EMBER, RUN, GO GET MS.LALATU, NOW!" As loud as he could before Mr.Wright made it to him and continued beating him crazily while he was on the ground. Ember got up and ran halfway outside of the room while Mr.Wright was busy with Artus.

Everything in Ember's fibers, the fibers that tried to learn as much intelligence as possible so as not to be compared to her brother, told her to run, get some adult help, "I'm just a kid, He's a grown up!" And much more to stop her from helping him herself, then she thought for a minute and realized how Artus just saved her, she thought "What would Artus do?" Before she spotted a bat nearby, and acting quick witted, she ran to the bat and grabbed it then headed for Mr.Wright as Artus would, she got caught the same way as well.

Artus was exhausted and hurt but he was able to make it to the bat that was dropped and began BRUTALLY beating Mr.Wright just as he did them, he bashed in his head instead of going for his body.

Walking in at the wrong time, Ms.Lalatu came back to see her orphans with blood on them and the dead seeming body of Mr.Wright lying on the ground next to them. Ms.Lalatu gasped from the horrors she saw and immediately called the police and the ambulance.

"Ahhh, yes, then some investigating later, you and Artus got busted and were recruited into S.I.O.M for your... What did they call it again?" Mara asked, "Stupendous irregular abilities." Ember answered Genuinely.

"EMBER... EMBER... EMBER!!!" The two heard when everything faded to black and the two floated around in a dark void, "Ah, I think that's our Queue to wake up from this world!" Mara said with a relaxing and pleased tone.

"What?" Ember sounded, as she woke up, she took a deep breath in and Had a headache some. First thing Ember saw when she awoke was Artus' face, he looked worried, then she turned and saw Mara surrounded by the backup she had called before she arrived. Lyle informed Ember that the two were asleep for hours but to Ember, it felt uncountable.

"DON'T MOVE!" A cop yelled to Mara, "We have the suspect pinned down, prepare a cell for questioning!" Said the cop to someone through the radio.

"Ahhh, fickle, no authority can catch me, I invoke the favour of Upkaar!" Mara Yelled out, "And hey, Embs, I had plenty of fuuunn!" Mara Yelled playfully out to Ember before she instantly vanished from the eyes of those around. Generil's police force present weren't happy about her escape.

"What happened to you when she forced you both to sleep somehow?" Asked Artus in a worried tone, "What does she mean she had fun?" Lyle asked in a calm manner following Artus' question. "It'll be a heck of a report." Ember replied to her brothers. Artus hugged his sister despite the height difference. Lyle joined in to make it a group as Ember stood there gathering her report early on while it forced her to reconsider.

"First, I had many confessions and realizations while there, but I need to apologize to you, Artus for the biggest." Ember answered, "I'm sorry Artus, I'm sorry that I wanted to leave you, that I hated you, that I thought the worst of you." Ember said to apologize sincerely.

Artus looked to the ground, pondering, before instead apologizing to her, "I'm sorry Ember, I didn't make it easy for us back then, but so much was running through my head." Artus responded as he was saddened.

"I'll... leave you guys to it." Lyle said before leaving off, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

"Tell me about what was going on." Ember said softly, softer than usual, Artus hesitated once but eventually confessed feeling no longer the need to bury it all, "Ms.Lalatu, she was a horrible woman sometimes, when I was on the edge of turning seven, she told me about our possible mother's death, how the night we arrived to her orphanage, police found that our mother's body was in the middle of the road, while her head was found down the street and the sidewalk were drenched in her blood that had spread, she got extremely graphic." Artus confessed with a heavy heart.

"Just like what I saw in the memory!" Ember interrupted, but said it in her head, "That stacked with how Ms.Lalatu described death, I guess I developed depression and that word that means I had a fear of death or something." Artus continued confessing to Ember, "You mean thanatophobia?" Ember asked, "Yeah and I tried to cover it all up by acting ignorant on some things, trying to have as much fun as I could have!" Artus answered.

"It felt good to get all of that out now!" Artus said aloud.

The two hugged, then Artus felt better and yelled out, "ALRIGHT, NOW I GOT SOME DIRT ON LYLE, There's something Lyle needs to confess to us now, too." With a big yet mischievous smile on his face.

"That was a good show, Mara Gulliver boo, you've entertained me well." Said the man from before, "Why was TV invented when you can just learn to invade folks' minds and watch their day to day or past and get a good laugh?" He said before he chuckled while thinking of his favorite part.

"I'd still have preferred messing with the one who wants to forget his past the most though..." She said with an attitude.

"Ehhh, There's nothing for him to freaking learn or let go about his past, wouldn't have been entertaining and educational!" The man told Mara.
