Gerald was the only one who seemed talking. If anyone was nearby, they would hear him say to Legion, "I know that you're in a hurry, but I have to ask, are you a lamp bearer?"
Legion replied, "No."
Gerald insisted, "Swear it on your honor and belief in justice."
Legion did as was asked, "I swear on my honor and belief in justice that I am not a lamp bearer."
Then they said with some frustration, "I hope that's enough."
Gerald smiled and said, "It is. But we have to wait a while to see if your brand will take effect after you've lied."
"That shouldn't happen if you are not a lamp bearer. But if you are, I'm afraid that you won't be able to leave Reinfield alive."
He was still smiling as he threatened Legion. But Legion wasn't concerned because they weren't lamp bearers.
The two of them stood opposite each other and waited for some sort of reaction. They waited like that for five minutes, but nothing happened.
