Chapter 23 - A BEGINNER'S LUCK

'This is bad. I need to get her home.' he thought.

"I miss my friends." She replied.

"But they live too far." She pouted and complained.

Zari rubbed her head and comforted his little sister.

"Let's go back for now. You know Baba is sick, right? What if he wakes up and looks for you?" He urged her, hoping she'll agree.

Sasha puckered her little face but eventually nodded. Happy, he held her hand and they walked back home. When he saw her eyebrows knotting as she slowed her walk, he knelt down and carried her in a piggyback. Little Sasha placed her tiny arms around his slender neck and they continued home.

"Let's visit your friends next time, alright?" She felt her face nod on his back. The rest of the family are already seated when they arrived. Tala stood up to help little Sasha clean up and change while Zari took a brief shower and changed into comfortable sleepwear.

They ate as usual and helped the youngest member of their family be tuck in bed and sleep. It did not take long for her to fall asleep and the steady rise and fall of her chest proved it.

Latini went out of the room and found that the other members of their family are still awake. She took a seat next to Eder and waited for them to speak. Zari has already been uneasy since this afternoon so he just blurted out.

"Sasha. I think she's transforming." His words alerted the rest of their family and they fell into silence.

"Did anything happen when she went out?" Tala was the first to ask.

"I'm not sure. But I think he saw me." They waited for him to continue.

"In my wolf form." Latini and Eder exchanged glances.

"Did you transform in her presence?" Huan asked next.

"I'm not stupid and you were there when I arrived. I'm already in my human form when I walked up to her. And she's sound asleep."

"What exactly happened Zari?" Eder finally asked. Zari relayed to them what happened when Sasha woke up.

"She's probably still sleepy when you wake her up." Latini concluded but before she could even make them agree to it, Huan spoke again.

"Or. She may have seen your soul. But she's not a vishanii, so how could..." Eder clenched his jaw but did not speak. Latini held his hand and gently squeezed it. Tala furrowed her brows as if remembering something but she can't recall anything at all. She kept her brows furrowed.

"Nonsense, do you mean to say that Sasha is not your sister but a daughter of the moon?" Latini gave a stern reply, stopping Tala's thoughts from wandering, and Huan kept his mouth shut.

"I'm sorry Nana." He mumbled a soft reply. Eder finally spoke when he noticed the building tension in the room.

"It's fine. Sasha always stays with me anyway so I can watch over her. Don't let those ridiculous ideas enter your thoughts." He said.

"The week is almost over and I can go back to school again. Zari, you can accompany Tala and help watch over Sasha when she goes out. Take a rest now. We'll wake up early tomorrow." He led Latini back to their room and closed it. Latini sat on the edge of there bed and stared on a door as her husband laid down. After a few minutes, she climbed on the bed and snuggled in Eder's arms.

"Have they slept?" He asked. She shook her head.

"They went to bed but they haven't slept yet." She said.

Eder raised his hands and some familiar weird shapes and images flew from his fingertip and sank on the walls of the room. These images are the same images that the woman from outside, Lisa, has drawn. However, it's not as extensive as the images she drew. The images formed did not even match half of all the images and shapes that she had drawn on their tent.

When she saw the images sank on the wall, Latini shifted her body and faced her husband.

"What do you think?" Eder remained silent for a long time before he breathed in and spoke.

"I think it's time." Latini's eyes grew wide as she looked at him.

"You mean?"

"Yes, it seems we can now go back. The gateway to Toradashi should open soon."

"Then Sasha..." Her voice trailed off. Toradashi is their home and her children would lead better lives where they really belong which made her excited to return. b

But her worry also increases with her excitement, her youngest daughter did not know of the truth yet. In fact, all of their children were not aware of the truth.

"We won't be able to always keep her in the dark. Even her siblings were not aware of it but the truth is bound to be revealed. She will eventually find out about herself. And it's part of her destiny." Eder commented, hiding his own worry within.

Eder recovered enough to go back to work and Sasha is too happy to know. She wore her princess dresses and rolled on the road like the round ball that she is. She did not give up on her love of foods and put on more weight. Her friends were not as happy as she thought they would be when she came back.

They started to stay away from her due to their fear of being beaten like the young boy from before. In her frustration, she grabbed random kids and forced them to play with her. When they refused, she threatened to beat them up and they just ran away. Her unruly behavior became apparent that even her siblings noticed it. However, they have decided not to provoke her into an untimely transformation so after a little reprimand, they just let her be.

"Hey!" Sasha called on a young boy who passed by her Mani Tala's snack bar. The young boy turned to look and saw a round ball wrapped in lace. She gestured for him to come over but he stood rooted on the ground.

"Yes?" He asked tentatively. Afraid of even breathing. His friends told him to avoid this round ball of flesh at all cost but it seems that lady luck turned her face away from him today.

"What's that?" She pointed at a small plastic that the young boy is holding.

"It's mine." He said.
