Little Sasha's house is made of pure concrete, something not too rare at this time but also not very much used due to its price. Her Baba designed the house and her Nana arranged the furnitures inside.
The parlor is neatly arranged to accommodate all the residents of the house in one place. There are two large chairs and a chaise lounge on each side with a table in the middle. A lone vase with a stalk of flower is set in the middle of the table.
Two doors are situated on one side and towards the back, another room is built next to the kitchen. The parlor and kitchen are separated by a large cabinet housing a color TV and video player.
Lisa walked towards one door and opened it, the dark tone of the room and the lingering smell of sweat made her close the door. That's definitely the room of those two brothers. She took one more look inside before she closed the door once more. The room has a wide space with a bunk bed on the side. One part has a chair and table arranged neatly while on the other side has a wall of something placed on it. Unfortunately, she's unable to identify those things installed on the wall as they've been swept clean.
She moved next to the other door and opened it. The fresh smell of flowers assaulted her nose when she entered the room. This shared room has two beds in it, with a small cabinet in between. One bed is tidied contrasting to the messy bed beside it with food crumbs on its covers. When Luca took a look inside, it unceremoniously sneezed and puffed.
"The messy one is definitely her bed. Move to the side, I'll place her there." It said and entered the room. With a little bit of effort, the passed out Sasha is set back on her bed. Lisa moved in time to clear the crumbs from the bed before Luca threw the little girl on it.
"Don't be too rough. She's still a little child." Lisa fought back her amused laugh. Luca rolled its eyes and as it shrank, it walked away from the room.
After tucking the little girl on her bed, Lisa gazed at the other bed. The bed has a wrinkled part indicating something wet was placed on it before it dried out on its own. When she checked, she found a coin-shaped scale on it. She picked it up and placed it on her pocket. She took another look at the sleeping little girl before she walked out and closed the door.
Lisa and her cat, Luca, continued to explore the house. Behind the parlor, the messy dishes greeted them in the kitchen and dining table. The food has started to smell, prompting her to bring out a mask and cover her nose. A high chair on the side shows food has been eaten on this part but the rest of the plates were not used. This told her that the family did not even get to eat before they entered the gateway.
Lisa looked to the other side and saw the last room in this house. By now, she knew this is the room of the couple. She shuddered when she remembered the overwhelming pressure coming from the man with a white hair. They must be powerful bataris. Taking a deep breath, she reached out her hand and twisted the door knob to open the room.
A king-size bed is situated in the middle of the room. A built-in cabinet for clothes is emptied on one side and a bedside table with a lamp is the only thing she could see inside. The walls are painted white and there are no decorations or anything on the room apart from a flush ceiling light. She moved the table to check for any hidden room but found nothing. Even the cabinet has been thoroughly checked by her. Still not satisfied, she propped up a chair and checked the light but got nothing. Lisa frowned.
'How did they find out about the gateway?' she thought.
She sat on the edge of the bed and started to make her analysis. After a few minutes, she's still unable to come up with a solution so she stood up and left the room. When she passed by the kitchen, she saw the uncleaned dishes and spotting a pair of rubber gloves by the sink, she started to tidy up the mess.
Luca furrowed its brows when it saw her washing the dirty dishes but stopped when it saw the serious look on her face. When she looks like this, she's normally thinking about things and so it decided not to bother her. After she cleaned up the kitchen, she sat on the dining table and brought out a meal for her and the little black cat.
Luca jumped on the table and ate as it stared at Lisa's frowning face.
"What's bothering you?" It finally asked.
Lisa just glanced at the little black cat and continued to chew on her food, still absorbed in her thoughts. She spotted the washroom towards the back of the house and got up to check it. The washroom is separated with a frosted sliding door and when you open it, a full-length mirror greets you first. There's a sink on the side and a clear glass separates the shower area from the toilet. The toiletries were not touched and nothing seemed to be removed from here. She closed the door and mulled over the things she saw in this house.
"Luca," she gestured at the black cat to follow her outside and she walked back to their tent.
"Why? Did you find anything?" Luca curiously asked when they entered the tent. Lisa shook her head, brought out the coin-sized scale she got from one of the beds and showed it to the little black cat.
"They've cleaned up the house. I only got this. It looks like the little girl brought some food with her when she got out, she may have smelled the food coming out from the tent when you kicked her out." She gave Luca a knowing smile.
"I did not expect that kid to have such sharp sense of smell. I really thought she's a Jiini. Tsk, my hopes have gone down." Luca just rolled its eyes and moved closer to her while thinking to itself what the child's real form was.
"Is that?" Luca squinted its little eyes and looked up to asked, not bothering to finished its words but Lisa understood.
