Evelyn was thrilled to attend the party, but her excitement died when she saw Emily maliciously cutting her only suitable dress into shreds with a wicked grin. "The party is for us, not someone like you. Stay at home and talk to the walls as usual," Emily sneered before leaving with Drake. Evelyn's eyes filled with tears as she stared at her ruined dress. Evelyn closed the door and headed to the guest room. She carefully read the invitation card and saw a small message on the hem of the gift hamper. " Beautify this gown with your grace, and you're invited to the party at Lanchesters." Beside the gown was a small bouquet of black roses. Evelyn smiled as she quickly got ready for the party. Just as she was about to look for a cab, the guards who had delivered the gift hamper approached her. They bowed and gestured for her to get into the car. Noticing it was the Lanchesters, she entered the car. The ride was smooth, and her eyes sparkled with excitement and curiosity as she gazed at the magnificent palace. She carefully exited the car and made her way toward the location of the party.
The heartbeats of Aldrich and Maximilian rose as they saw their angel. They were smitten by her. Brandon, who was standing leisurely beside Aldrich, noticed his struck expression and followed his gaze. And there was his baby sister. His eyes moistened with tears as he saw her. Evelyn's eyes were searching for Mia. While searching for her, she bumped into Aldrich and Brandon. She was surprised to see them and greeted them. " It's you two again. Nice to meet you." Before they could respond to her, Mia came and hugged Evelyn. " You look beautiful, Evelyn." She smiled at the compliment and then returned the favor by complimenting Mia. Not once did Aldrich avert his gaze from Evelyn. Mia gestured to Brandon, and in return, he kicked Aldrich's leg, breaking his gaze from Evelyn.
Aldrich was about to glare at Brandon when Evelyn's voice reached his ears. " You mean to say, he's your brother?" Mia nodded and took her to greet her parents. Brandon then pinched the back of Aldrich when he saw the trick Aldrich played. He made Evelyn wear a gown to complement his suit. Anyone with no clue would think of them as a couple. Aldrich smirked and gloated as his planning paid off. Brandon scoffed annoyingly at his best friend's tricks but was happy inside as well. They followed Mia and Evelyn to their parents. Adrian and Avery were nostalgic when they saw Evelyn. They quickly hugged her and blessed her. Mia then happily introduced her parents to Evelyn. " They're our parents and the organizers for this party." Evelyn respectfully greeted them and learned about the Lanchesters.
Evelyn felt comfortable with most of them, except Aldrich, who couldn't stop staring at her. She shivered under his intense gaze. Aldrich couldn't help but stare at her due to their bond. Maximilian's surfacing worsened the situation. Brandon tried his best to keep Evelyn engaged, and Aldrich went away knowing his gaze could make her uncomfortable. Though Evelyn didn't wish to encounter Emily and Drake, to her bad luck, she saw them heading towards her. She bit her lips as she knew what was coming. She tried to excuse herself, but it was too late. Emily burned with jealousy as she saw her looking so charming, and Drake was lusting over her. All of this didn't go unnoticed by the Lanchesters, especially Aldrich.
Emily, with her fake concerned voice, asked, " Weren't you planning to stay at home, Eve?" Before Evelyn could answer her, a cold voice echoed in the hall. It was Adrian announcing the party to officially begin. Avery took the mic from Adrian and started announcing the results of top ten scores of the scholarship exam. " And the student to secure the first position in the exam is Evelyn Quinns." Emily's and Drake's eyes widen at the announcement. They could barely qualify, and Evelyn topped the exam. She couldn't accept this. Before Avery could say further, Emily interrupted her. " There's some mistake here. She shouldn't even qualify for this exam." There was a silence after her statement.
