introduction chapter : One fatal mistake
A loud wail could be heard throughout the village , the villagers surrounded a little girl who could be no older then sixteen, to see such a young child wail so loudly in grief , she wore the expression of someone who has lost faith in this world , a expression no child should bear . In her arms was a head ...the head of her father , but no body... the head was terribly beaten and had swear words carved on it and one very distinguish factor , the symbol of the
goddess of luck ,Huiqing , a smiley face .
The mortals were unaware of the young goddess standing just mere centimeters away from the wailing girl .
The young goddess felt lost , unsure what to do , heart deep in regret and sorrow , she took a step back when the wailing girl stopped wailing and got up cradling her fathers head , small sobs left the girls lips before she looked up and the villagers watching froze as they stared at her with wide eyes , some hid behind there friends as they all watched her terrified.
The young deity raised a confuse eyebrow under her signature
smiley face mask as she walked in front of the child to see what terrified even the men , soon she froze and had the same terrified expression on her face as the mortals .
The child wore a smile familiar to the young goddess mask , the young deity masked was porcelain with a wide black smile
painted on it , an almost taunting amused smile , there were
eye shaped holes drawn on the mask for huiqing to see , the fine mask was made in such a way that it fitted the deity perfectly
and gave a good detail of her actual face .
The girl's smile was large , taunting like the one on the mask , although her eyes was laced with anger , it was almost like the child was aware of the deity's presence and that mocking face
was directed at her .
Huiqing felt her breath hitch as the child took a step forward , the young deity felt her heart wrap in fear , a feeling she hasn't
felt in a hundred years , the young goddess only remembered
that she could not be seen when the child walked past her and went to one of her temples , huiqing right behind her , curious to
see what the child's motives were .
The child held up her father's head infront of the divine statue of
the goddess of luck .
" What kind of luck is this ? I been your biggest devotee ever
since I could pray." the girl said in a soft demanding voice as
she starred at her feet before her head shot up and glared draggers at the statue she once looked at with admiration, she started yelling " this? This is the reward I get ! what the hell
did I do to deserve such a reward , I prayed to you without
rest to give me luck and return my father to me ! this is what
your worshippers get!" the child continued to yell insults as the
young deity stared at her , she wanted to appear Infront of the
child and tell her that it wasn't her fault and that she can't
answer all prayers , many prayers get unnoticed by gods.
But that's the thing , huiqing did hear her prayers many
times , but purposely ignored them she didn't think they were
important and that she had wanted to pay more attention to the more valid prayers ...such as giving a young boy huge amount
of luck, so his dog won't die.
To make matters worse the father died because of her , she
happened to be passing by when the child's father was being
tortured , she remembered the young girl's prayer and decided
to give some luck to the father without so much of a second
thought before proceeding to walk away .
The father got lucky since death ended its suffering …
