Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Followers and... Bloodline?

"Well..."

"What about you?"

Lin Ke calmly glanced at the head maid and guard captain, despite being only six years old, he had an aura of authority without anger.

This was a demeanor cultivated in his previous life.

"I swear to defend..."

"I shall..."

The other two immediately knelt on one knee and then bowed their heads to swear allegiance.

Lin Ke nodded with satisfaction and looked at the lady with great interest: "And you, Lady Blando?"

He didn't call her aunt. Instead, he addressed her as "Lady Blando."

"Are you still loyal to Azanen?"

Lin Ke squinted his eyes, as his small body approached the lady who was merely in her twenties.

Deathly silence.

The three kneeling individuals dared not lift their heads, nor did they dare to breathe heavily.

How could they have ever witnessed such a scene!

"I will not betray Azanen." After a while, the lady elegantly sat in her seat, letting out a soft laugh.

"Then... tell me, where did you take my mother?" Lin Ke stepped forward, looking calmly at the lady.

His voice was childish yet flat, but it made the three kneeling individuals tremble, almost scaring them to collapse.

"Your mother? What does the disappearance of that commoner have to do with me?" The lady raised her eyebrows slightly upon seeing Lin Ke's slight anger, as if teasing a younger family member.

"My personal valet told me that my mother was taken by you for punishment. What's the reason?" In this world, personal valets are the most loyal servants and the most trustworthy individuals.

Lin Ke seemingly suppressed his anger and said earnestly, "My father will return during the month of Liuhuo, and I hope you'll still be so relaxed then!"

A threat!

In this castle, this lady had always behaved lawlessly, and his bastard father had been absent since his birth.

For six years!

And considering the true master of this castle, the lady's once interested expression turned plain, seemingly losing interest: "What difference would it make upon his return."

Lin Ke smiled, "You dare not harm us, else you won't fare well either!"

A flash of humor appeared in the lady's eyes, but she suddenly slapped the chair, stood up, and shouted, "Impudent!"

The three on the ground were terrified and immediately fell to their knees, bowing their heads.

"It's you who are impudent!" Lin Ke raised his head and lightly replied, "I am Linke Azen! The eldest son of Viscount Azanen!"

Confrontation!

Lived here for six years.

Lin Ke still remembers being alone in the room as a baby.

And that lady sneakily came into his bedroom, gently touched his cheek, sighed, and then...

Flashed a dagger.

If it weren't for Housekeeper Billy knocking on the door back then, asking, "Is the second lady inside, is it convenient to enter," Lin Ke would have likely died!

Since then, Lin Ke has been highly cautious of that heart-of-snakes-and-scorpion woman.

"How can you speak to me like this!"

The lady stared down at the six-year-old Lin Ke.

Lin Ke was undeterred, full of determination in his eyes.

The three kneeling nearby dared not move, as if they had been frightened into statues...

If not for their trailing cold sweat.

"Hmph."

After a while, the lady let out a soft snort, walked gracefully outside, leaving Lin Ke in her room.

Once she left, she closed the door.

After closing the door, the lady let out a deep sigh of relief.

She nostalgically glanced back, her expression full of affection, before taking a small bag of copper coins from her pocket and handing it to the personal maid beside her: "Here, give it to that Little Sophie, good job."

As she spoke, the lady's lips slightly curled, thinking of something.

"Madam, why did you..." the nearby maid hesitated to speak.

The lady smiled, whispered softly, "Little Lin Ke is so clever, perfect for thriving in adversity..."

The maid nodded, seemingly without fully understanding.

......

Inside the room.

"Phew..."

The three kneeling on the ground simultaneously let out a long sigh of relief.

Revived.

"Stand up, the three of you."

Upon hearing Lin Ke's voice, the three lifted their heads.

Just moments ago, Lin Ke's face was indifferent, but now he was smiling brightly, innocently looking at them, reaching out his fair, soft little hands to help them.

The smile was like a spring breeze, yet the three felt a chill throughout.

Everyone in the castle knew the young master was precocious, but only Housekeeper Billy, the lady, and they, along with another farm team captain, knew the young master was precocious to a terrifying degree.

The guard captain and purchasing captain exchanged glances, communicating silently.

This young master is only six years old!

Six years old!

One can only say, deserving of Azanen's lineage? So strong, so envied.

"So... do you know where my mother is?" Lin Ke asked with a smile.

The guard captain and purchasing captain quickly shook their heads.

The head maid stuttered nervously, "She seems to be... right there..."

The head maid trembled, pointing shakily to the study nearby.

Everyone knew Lin Ke treated the lower-tier servants well in the castle, along with Housekeeper Billy and his mother.

Except when dealing with the lady, treating the head maid, guard captain, purchasing captain, and farm team captain extremely strictly.

Lin Ke didn't know what she was thinking, only followed her gaze.

In this castle, there were only two places with studies, one being his father's large study, the other being the lady's.
