Even though Hannah did not need Wayne Lane's understanding, she was still relieved to hear his words.
She changed the subject, "We are going back tomorrow, have you figured out how to explain this to Professor Lawrence and the others?"
After such a big incident, the principal would probably come in person.
"I haven't thought it through." Wayne Lane indulged himself for once, and his smile grew as he copied Hannah's tone, "The worst that can happen is a punishment."
They didn't really make a mess in the true sense of the word, and Professor Lawrence and the principal weren't that rigid; they wouldn't just punish them without any consideration.
So at most, it was just a matter of going through the motions.
