The veteran shouted, and Ghost Head quickly ran toward the back of the line. Seeing that the new recruits were learning the process well, the veteran felt assured and walked to the rear to chat casually with the other two veterans.
Inside the truck, tube after tube of lure substance was thrown onto the road by the new recruits. The "hiss-hiss-hiss" sound emerged repeatedly, only to fade away moments later. As the soldiers threw out more and more of the lure substance, the interior of the truck began to fill with an indescribable smell, prompting the soldiers to cover their noses and mouths with their hands.
The scent of the lure substance was bizarre—not offensive, but strangely fragrant. When it evaporated, it carried an aroma reminiscent of cumin seasoning used during barbeques. Logically, this smell shouldn't provoke an urge to avoid breathing it in, yet it instinctively gave off an impression of something pleasant but uninhabitable.
