Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Magic Shop

Adoma was chattering in Kane's ear

After revealing her secret little intel, she couldn't help but gossip about other topics.

Adoma now didn't care whether Kane wanted to listen or not, and started chatting on her own.

"You know, just when Chucky came back to file the report, oh right, do you know Chucky?"

She tilted her head, staring at Kane with big round eyes as she asked.

Kane sighed softly, kept his gaze calm as he looked at her, with a smile on his lips.

Seeing Kane not answering, but just staring at her like that, Adoma seemed to sense his 'care for the foolish' expression.

She tapped her own forehead, apologetically saying, "Oh yeah, how could you possibly know Chucky, haha."

"Hehe, where were we in the conversation?" Adoma asked awkwardly while touching the tip of her spiraling downward horn.

"Returning the report!" Kane replied helplessly.

The string in her mind reconnected, "Oh oh, yes, right."

"Chucky said the new Copper Dungeon was cleared by a lucky guy in one go—reportedly his first time exploring a dungeon. They were even ready to go in and collect the corpses at the time,"

"But the person just cleared it directly; he was a regular person, a regular person cleared the copper dungeon marked with a red flag in one go," Adoma's voice suddenly rose, causing the people around to turn and look at her.

A bit embarrassed, she smiled toward the people around her, and then continued in a low voice, "Later, the guy was teleported here by Nando's assistant, you know who he is, right?"

Her big hopeful eyes stared straight at Kane, almost pointing a finger at his head saying, "It was you, wasn't it?"

"Mm."

Kane looked at her expression and responded with a helpless "mm".

"Mm meaning you admit, right? You are that person,"

She hurriedly said, worrying Kane might trick her.

Kane, letting go of resistance, helplessly said, "Yes, that person is me."

Adoma covered her mouth with both hands, forcibly sealing the scream trying to escape from her throat.

"Mmm, uh-huh mmm."

Wanting to speak while covering her mouth, she could only express her feelings through muffled sounds.

Kane reached out to pat her head, and also touched her horn.

It was hard, but not too rough.

He had wanted to touch this horn for a while if he weren't afraid of getting caught by the patrol team.

"No need to get too excited, calm down."

Adoma took a few deep breaths, vigorously swept her chest with her hand to calm herself.

Her eyes followed the motion of that big hand, thinking how large it is—no, she meant how white the clothes are.

Sensing something odd, the horned girl sharply glanced at Kane.

At this moment, Kane had a puzzled expression as he said, "It's just a Mist Warrior, why so excited?"

"Of course, I'm excited," she exclaimed animatedly, forgetting her previous thoughts, "That's the Mist Warrior—we've never seen a live one before."

"When I was little, my mom always told me stories about the Mist Warriors."

"So can you show me? Just that thing, that unique thing that belongs to the warrior," she clasped her hands and rested her chin, with eyes bright and starry showing admiration and pleading.

Kane's vanity soared, he opened his outer jacket revealing the emblem on his inner lining.

The pleading shadow immediately bent over, almost pressing her face against Kane's chest.

Her face got closer.

Seeing she was about to get stuck on him, Kane smacked her on the back of her head.

"Ouch"〒▽〒

She rubbed her head and stood up.

"You've seen it, right?"

"I have things to do, so I'll head off. See you," Kane waved his hand and ran towards the Magic Shop without giving her another chance.

Though Adoma felt a bit disappointed, she didn't insist on keeping him, instead, tiptoed and waved at Kane, shouting, "See you, Kane."

Being a Mist Warrior is not something to hide; several appear every few years.

No one would dare act against a Warrior globally since it's a fruitless endeavor.

The emblem merely signifies a promising future.

Arrived beside the front desk.

He stepped into the Magic Shop; magical items were hanging all over the walls for display: golden small round shields, fluttering magic robes, and animated paintings.

The counter displayed exquisite Magic Accessories: sapphire rings, gem-encrusted Wrist Guards, luxurious necklaces.

Behind the counter was a slender figure wearing a Wizard's Hat and a magic robe, engrossed in embedding something on a headband at a crafting table, assisted by two translucent pale blue hands behind him.

"Customer, please hold, wait a moment."

Magic particles gathered toward the item in his hand; a minor fluctuation appeared and disappeared.

Judging by the movement, the item embedding seemed successful.

The boss wiped beads of sweat from his forehead and turned to Kane asking

"What does the customer need?"

Kane walked over first taking out the Sword of the Army Captain from his bag.

Placed the sword in front of him.

With thin hands, he picked up the One-Handed Sword from the table, examined it closely in his hand, then said,

"Copper quality, imbued with Sharp Magic, 400 gold no negotiation."

It was above his expected price, after thinking for a moment, he said, "Deal."

Upon hearing Kane's response, the boss turned to get the money.

"Don't rush, I have more things."

The thin silhouette turned back again, quietly waiting.

Kane then took out the Assassin's proof looted from the Dungeon Leader, handed it to the boss.

After accepting it, the boss put on the thick lens on his chest and examined the proof.

"Lucky young man, it's been a while since I saw this item," he commented after taking off the lens: "Opera Troupe's Assassin Martial Arts Learning Device, low rate of sale, price tagged without market."

Thinking for a while, he said, "If you sell it to me, I can offer 1350 gold, this is above market price."

"Now wait," Kane chuckled, "I have a big treasure, don't know if the boss is interested."

The boss's expression turned quirky—not you, a small copper Explorer, what big treasure can you bring.

He stared at Kane for a long time, shook his head slightly, indicating for Kane to show him.

Taking out the gemstone from his coat, he held it in his hand toward the boss, slowly opening his palm.

As he revealed the gemstone, the boss's expression changed from confusion to shock.

"Just heard this morning the Commerce Ruins dissipated; didn't expect you broke through the final dungeon,"

Seeing Kane's young age, he was impressed, "Although these are rare, here I can't even offer you market price.

If you're not in a rush for money, you can auction it at the Majestic Auction two months later, consign it a month ahead, they'll definitely promote it greatly, and the auction price will be higher,"

Hearing the boss's explanation, Kane was quite tempted and thanked, "Thanks for telling me this, boss."

He could've purchased and auctioned it by himself.

The boss waved his hand, "I was once an Explorer too, seeing you makes me nostalgic."

"Need any other help, young man?"

"Do you have any magical materials dropped from the dungeon, similar to this here?" Kane took out the Golden Desire handing it to the boss.

After looking, he said, "These magical materials are produced by almost every dungeon, regarded as common commodities with high consumption rates."

Then pointed to a nearby cabinet, "They're inside, prices fluctuate based on the magic power within."

Kane took a minimal amount, costing 210 gold.

He arrived by the counter to settle up; the boss handed Kane a pouch, "A total of 1510 gold."

After weighing it, confirming no issues.

Kane took his items, bid farewell to the boss, and left.
