The cold glint flashed past
Blood spurted out.
Even as Komi struggled hard to dodge, Kane wouldn't let him get away so easily.
The bound arm was pulled by spider silk, taking a hard slash despite his best attempts to evade.
The thick arm was cut nearly halfway, and under the pressure of force, blood gushed out from the huge wound.
This kind of wound caused his left arm's strength to diminish sharply, unable to resist Kane's spider silk any longer.
Making a quick decision, Komi needed to break free from the spider silk immediately.
His right hand slashed down with a machete, cutting through Kane's spider silk.
Freed from the spider silk, Komi jumped back two steps, dodging the centaur's attack, panting heavily on the spot.
"I really underestimated you guys. Seems like I need to take care of this sneaky brat first."
He finally realized just how troublesome Kane was—an annoyance from afar made it impossible for him to deal with the female centaur in front.
It even allowed these two to cooperate and find chances to inflict new injuries.
At this thought, he seemed to use some skill, his entire body growing larger, with muscles bulging all over.
The wound on his arm was also stopped by the shift of the muscles on both sides.
Transformation complete, he immediately leaped forcefully in Kane's direction.
Launching into a sprint
A huge impact raised circles of dust from the ground directly.
Komi lunged toward Kane, completely ignoring the centaur on the ground.
Kreya hurried toward Kane's position, intending to intercept before he could attack Kane.
Kane had fought many dungeon monsters since he awakened his origin skills.
All monsters trying to quickly get close to Kane for melee would usually go through a necessary process.
And that was being obstructed by unseen barriers.
Komi in mid-air, upon almost landing, suddenly sensed something wrong beneath but couldn't adjust his landing spot mid-air.
Seeing that he was about to land, Kane rolled aside to dodge.
Bang!
"You damned brat, I'll kill you for sure."
Within the dust that settled from the landing, came Komi's shouting, with a quivering voice that revealed the severity of his injuries.
When Kane saw him jumping at him, he wasn't the least bit panicked, even feeling a bit of schadenfreude.
Transparent walls, obstacles of all sorts.
Had long covered the surroundings, and once he roughly guessed the landing point.
The area below the landing spot was already set with spike-filled traps.
With no leverage point mid-air, Komi couldn't dodge, having to curl up tightly to protect his vital parts.
As the dust settled, Komi, covered in bloody holes, stood up.
Seeing the tangible arrow in his thigh, Kane couldn't help but break into a smile.
Shouting to the approaching Kreya, "No need to clash with him, just stall him."
Kreya slowed her pace upon hearing this.
"You think you can just get away like this? I'll rip you to shreds bit by bit."
Komi also heard Kane, roaring a threat at him angrily.
Seeing that he intended to chat a bit with him, Kane wasn't in a rush at all.
"Instead of yapping like a dog, why not think about how to stay alive? Your life is like a candle in the wind."
Having heard Kane, Kreya didn't move to attack, but positioned herself in front of Kane, blocking Komi's path forward.
"You insidious monkey, I'll twist your head off soon enough."
The muscles pressed against each other, gradually sealing the wound and stopping the bleeding.
Removing the arrow from himself, he threw it to the ground.
Seeing the arrow, Kreya sighed in relief, a smile appearing on her face.
Kane's arrows and projectiles were transparent, only having received a normal arrow just earlier.
[Poisoned Arrow]
After Kane shot a few arrows, finding that Komi could easily catch and dodge them,
he had actually abandoned the use of the poisoned arrow since the opportunity was only once. Firing it at Komi was extremely challenging.
But seeing him jump directly toward him, he scattered the steel spikes on the ground immediately.
One of the steel spike tips actually covered the tip of the [Poisoned Arrow], revealing the arrowhead.
Upon seeing the arrow successfully impaled on the monster, Kane knew the battle was nearing its end.
The deadly poison might fail, but it wouldn't on a mini-boss of a copper dungeon.
Otherwise, such an arrow wouldn't be equipment; might as well use regular arrows dipped in poison.
"Arrogant brat, time to die now."
Seeing that Kane and Kreya didn't pursue while he was recovering,
he couldn't help but mock them, charging toward them.
"Why would you think only you are stalling for time?"
Kane retorted.
"What a blockheaded brute."
The centaur couldn't help but chime in.
The robust running form suddenly knelt down to the ground.
Komi used both hands with difficulty to prop up the broad machete, trying to stand.
Yet the enfeeblement overtaking him, his sluggishness, rendered him impotent.
Bloodshot eyes turning pale-white struggled to see the enemies ahead, he forced out, "Such... such cowardice, two against one with underhanded poison, I... I won't accept this."
Kane wouldn't indulge in his incessant rant anymore.
Fully drawing his bow, a transparent arrow cut through the air.
Piercing through Komi's heart, his eyes filled with unwillingness, he lowered his head, swallowing his last breath.
A fist clenched tightly in hand loosened as life faded, dropping the black powder it held.
"Tsk."
Watching this, Kane clicked his tongue, saying, "Who's the sneaky one now."
He had kept his Eagle Eye active the whole time, seeing Komi's little tricks crystal clear.
Thus, not letting Kreya go to finish him off, but delivering a final arrow instead.
Not exposing his dirty trick on the spot was already giving Komi enough face.
Cheers of acclaim, thunderous applause
The hourglass exploded right in the sky
Floating grains of sand scattered downward
Kane didn't pay it any mind, instead squatted by Kreya's side.
Kreya was already slumped on the ground, her arm fractured, all four of her legs' ankles swollen and bruised.
What kept her facing Kane earlier was from 'Frenzy Battle Roar's' boost.
Now that Komi was dead, the boost faded, and the centaur couldn't hold on.
"How are you doing? Can you hold on?" Kane asked with concern, seeing Kreya kneeling on the ground.
Kreya nodded, "It's not a major injury, just can't move for now."
"As long as there's no life threat," Kane lifted her arm carefully, stabilizing it with modeling clay.
"Bear with me, I'll be quick."
"Mm!"
A muffled grunt, Kreya couldn't help but let out a cry of pain, her face blushing for a reason unknown, possibly from pain.
"Youyou, go collect the loot." Turning to Kreya, "I'll wrap you up then get a healer for you."
Kane wasn't in the mood to open the treasure chest now.
Youyou had already rolled over to start gathering the spoils.
Even my Youyou gets to open chests now.
After gently wrapping Kreya up, he molded a stretcher with rubber.
"Hold on, let me lift you up," Kane spoke, getting to it directly.
So heavy
He barely managed to place the centaur on the stretcher after some effort.
"Am I a bit heavy?" Kreya's ears blushed a little, too.
Hearing this, Kane nodded earnestly, "A bit, yes."
"I just forgot to change back; I'm normally not this heavy."
She switched to her everyday outfit immediately.
"Really?"
Seeing Kane seem unconvinced, the centaur grew a bit anxious.
But before she could start arguing, Youyou finished gathering and came by.
"Here, master." Receiving the spoils, Kane stored them away, planning to check when Kreya was settled.
Expending great magic power to make the transparent stretcher float.
"Let's go now."
Just as the words left his mouth, they vanished from the spot.
