Chapter 10 - Mythical Pokemon

A.N: There will be various time skips in this chapter because nothing worth mentioning will happen other than what's mentioned in this chapter.

------------------------------------

After Dad left, Mom and I slept in my room. Yeah, whenever Dad goes to any meeting for more than one day, Mom sleeps with me. Dad does the same.

Time Skip~

It's been three months since my birthday, and the other two eggs haven't hatched yet. I've been doing daily training with my Pokémon. While they practice their moves, I strengthen my body, as it's necessary to stay physically fit while traveling as a Pokémon Trainer. I'm currently wearing my training gear, which is a purple crop top, blue denim shorts, and red shoes. This outfit really shows off my skin, which is quite nice, if I do say so myself.

After training, we had dinner together. We've started eating in the same place, which is at home. After dinner, I was on my way to take my Pokémon back to their place.

As we approached the Pokéhouse, we saw a light coming from it. When we noticed the light, I yelled for my parents to come out.

"Mom, Dad, quick! Come! The egg is hatching!"

Hearing my words, they rushed out, curious about which Pokémon had taken so long to hatch.

We all rushed to the Pokéhouse to see a black egg with red stripes glowing. As the egg started to crack, anticipation filled us, as well as curiosity.

Once the egg completely hatched, a Zorua emerged. We all yelled in surprise. Zorua is a mythical Pokémon, and to make it even more surprising, it's a shiny one. Seeing it come out of an egg we thought was from a normal Pokémon was truly astonishing.

(A.N.: I tried to find out whether Zorua is considered mythical or legendary, but couldn't find a definitive answer. So I'm going with mythical.)

It seemed that Zorua was startled by the noise, almost starting to cry. I quickly picked it up in my arms and began patting its head.

"It's okay, Zorua. We're your family now. You don't need to be afraid of us." I said, trying to calm it down.

After we all got friendly with Zorua, we tried to leave, but Zorua clung to me like I'd been stuck to it with glue.

After many unsuccessful attempts to detach it from me, I realized I had only one option: convince my other Pokémon to let Zorua sleep with me. This didn't go well, though, as Froakie was convinced, but all the girls protested.

In the end, we all slept in my room, including Froakie, because I didn't want him to feel left out.

Time Skip~

It's been six months since Zorua hatched. During this time, most of my Pokémon evolved. Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur, Charmander into Charmeleon, Squirtle into Wartortle, Torchic into Combusken, Mudkip into Marshtomp, and Piplup (which is a shiny one) into Prinplup. I forgot to mention earlier that Piplup is shiny because I was too excited to watch all these Pokémon eggs hatch almost at the same time.

(A.N.: In reality, I forgot there were shiny Pokémon.)

My shiny Rowlet also evolved into Dartrix, leaving only Froakie, Sobble, Scorbunny, Grookey, shiny Litten, Chimchar, shiny Treecko, and shiny Zorua still unevolved.

Everyone is training with all their might, including me. The Pokémon that's surprised me the most is Froakie. He can beat almost every one of my Pokémon, even though he hasn't evolved yet. What's even more surprising and confusing at the same time is that if he can beat everyone on my team, shouldn't he have evolved first?

Zorua is also doing great. She has learned a bunch of moves and can transform into every one of my Pokémon, and even Pokémon she sees every day, like Chesnaught—and even me. Sometimes, she pranks others by taking my appearance.

If you're wondering how I know Zorua is a girl, the answer is simple—she told me.

But something strange has been happening for the past week.

We've all been having nightmares every night. I wonder what's causing it.

.

In the middle of the night, I felt like someone was calling me. So, I got up from my bed and walked toward the Pokéhouse.

When I arrived, I saw all my Pokémon sleeping peacefully. As I was about to leave, the completely black egg started glowing brightly. I felt that its light was similar to when Zorua hatched, but much stronger.

Mom and Dad arrived shortly after I did.

"Mom, Dad, what's happening?"

"The light is so bright that it reached our room. We came to check it out," Mom replied, shielding her eyes from the light.

"The egg is hatching. The light coming from it is almost the same as when Zorua hatched, but it's brighter. Judging by the light, there must be either a legendary or another mythical Pokémon inside," Dad said, also shielding his eyes.

"Really?" Mom said, surprised.

"I thought you felt it too, that's why you came here," I said.

"Felt what?" Dad asked.

"Like someone was calling you. I came because I felt like someone was calling me. As soon as I arrived here, it started glowing," I answered.

After a while, the egg stopped glowing, and we were all rubbing our eyes, trying to adjust. The light had been so powerful, and the change in light had almost blinded us.

Crack!

We heard a creaking sound, but we still couldn't see clearly.

Once we got our vision back and turned the lights on, I moved toward the egg. It had fully hatched, but we couldn't see any Pokémon near it.

I checked the egg to see if there was anything.

"Sid, be careful!"

"Yeah, Mom, I'll be careful."

When I arrived near the egg, I tried to see if anything was there. I even checked its shell, but I couldn't find anything.

"Did you see anything?" Dad asked.

"No," I replied before I felt that same strange feeling again. Just as I turned around, I felt two hands hugging me.

"So, it's you, huh?" I said without turning around. "Care to tell me who you are?" I said before I saw the pale faces of my mom and dad.

"Mom, Dad, what happened?"

"Sid, look back," Mom replied.

"What's behind me?" I asked before turning around to see the Pokémon that had just hatched.

It was a Darkrai, another shiny one at that.

This shocked us the most, as we never knew Darkrai could hatch from an egg. Even with all the technology available, scientists haven't been able to uncover its birth, death, or even its gender. And now, a Darkrai had just hatched from an egg I'd been taking care of for almost nine months.

Yeah, the same amount of time it takes for a human child to be born. And it seemed like it was attached to me, as it wouldn't stop hugging me. It reminded me of Zorua when she first hatched.

When Zorua hatched, all my Pokémon started sleeping with me. I managed to convince them to go back to the Pokéhouse, but I didn't want that to happen again.
