ACT ONE
Scene One.
We see Janet in the parlour watching Tv, treating herself to a bottle of champagne. She's just poured herself a glass, leaving the bottle on her beautifully designed custom made stool.
JANET : ( relaxing, sips )....yeahhh.....the life
JAMES : ( runs down quickly, ) mom!...mom!!...( stops, panting, drops the stuff he was carrying )..I need you to ask me to do something....
JANET : ( confused )....urr
JAMES : anything!!
JANET : ( looks at him weirdly ) um...Okay, I actually have something you can he...
BETH : ( cuts in, running down the stairs ) mom!.....tell me to do something..( pause, breathes in and out...looks around )...NOW!!
JANET : .....urr
BETH : anything!!
JANET : Why are you guys panting, you only ran down a flight of stairs
They stare at her, muzzed
JANET : what?
JAMES : maybe cause that's not the REASON WE'RE PANTING!!
JANET : ( sips )....ohhh
JAMES AND BETH : MOM!
JANET : OKAY!..( groans ) urrgh....the life..( puts down the glass, sighs )...I actually need another glass for my friend coming to visit.
JAMES AND BETH : Done!!.....( they look at each other )
JAMES : Hey! don't get me started Beth, I was here first so
BETH : ( cuts in ) oh shut up James!
They both stare at her
BETH : so you were here first, I....that..( thinks, fidgeting a bit )...well that...that doesn't mean...oh shut up James!
JAMES : Beth....leave
BETH : not a chance, there's no way you're leaving me with him
JANET : ( picks up her drink ) who?
BETH : Dad!
JANET : um...okay, i still need that gla..
JAMES : ( cuts in ) well, you're not leaving me with dad either
EDWARD : how bout you both leave me with dad..( smiles, thinks again )....wait
They turn to see him coming down
EDWARD : I meant, how bout you both leave with dad.
JAMES : he's here, nice going mom
JANET : I'm.....I'm still waiting fo...
BETH : ( cuts in ) mom, dad's taking us to a bar!
JANET : ( chokes on her drink ) I'm sorry?
EDWARD : ( sighs ) it's not a bar, it's a lounge!...with a bar in it.
JAMES : Is that supposed to make us feel better?
EDWARD : ( to Janet ) It's Louis
JANET : oh...sounds fun!.....guys can I get the glass no...
BETH : ( cuts in ) what?!! ....sounds what?!
JAMES : your children becoming alcoholics sounds....
BETH :...what?!
EDWARD : no one said anything about drinking.
JAMES : It's a bar!
EDWARD : actually it's a..( pause as he sees them staring )....nevermind
JANET : kids just because you're going to a bar doesn't mean you have to drink there....
They direct their stare at her
JANET : ( sighs ) it's a bar lounge, whatever, that allow kids your age enter. They have drinks fit for you guys and an appropriate level of decency. Besides, the only reason, he's taking you guys there is cause something special happened to him there. He just wants to share it with you guys today.
BETH : mom's right,.....it's only for today
JAMES : couldn't you have said this without the weird first part?.....fine, let's get it over with..
JANET : good, now, help me with the cup, it's.....
JAMES : ( cuts in ) what of Jonah?
EDWARD : took him there when he was eighteen, on special request...( smiles )...you know what that means?
BETH : yeah we got it
EDWARD : means he requested to go there
BETH : yeah we got it dad!
EDWARD : Alright let me go get my Jacket ( heads back up ) Elaine should be back any minute now, she said she was on her way.
JAMES : Is she coming?
EDWARD : ( smiles ) Of course she is!....I think. ( exits )
Almost immediately, Elaine enters, she's on the phone.
ELAINE : look girl, I don't know what to think, it's really obvious....no not that it matters, it's just that I don't really know how I feel about h....( pause, realizes she's not alone )....pringles
Olivia's Voice is heard through the phone
Olivia's Voice : WHAT!!
ELAINE : um I....
Olivia's Voice : Everybody love pringles!!
ELAINE :..( Sighs )....really?!! that's your reply?!
JANET : um..I don't...not a fan of springles...just putting it out there.
ELAINE : talk to you later..( ends the call )...mom can I ask you something?
JANET : If it's for me to ask you to do something.....( looks at Beth and James )....anything!....( face her )...I'd really like a glass cup from th..
ELAINE : ( cuts in ) it's not that
Janet sighs
ELAINE : how do you tell if you like a guy?
They all gasp
JAMES : um, is the guy Shakespeare?
ELAINE : ( sighs ) I'm serious mom, I really need to kn....
EDWARD : ( cuts in, coming down the stairs ) Just in time Elaine!, Let's move.
The kids groan.
JANET : Your heart knows what it wants Elaine
ELAINE : ( on her way out ) really?
JANET : Yeah, just like mine wants another glass cup here.
JAMES : oh forgot to get you the glass...
Janet face lights up
JAMES :...Bye mom.
Janet sighs
They all exit, few seconds later, James rushes back in.
JAMES : sorry I forgot to....
Her face lights up.
JAMES :....take my sweater, might get chilly..( picks it up and exits )
Janet sighs. He enters again
JAMES : ooh and my hoodie, don't even know what I need that f..
JANET : ( Cuts in, frustrated ) JUST GO BRING THE CUP!!!
JAMES : Yes ma'am ( runs into the kitchen, places the cup on the stool and leaves the house ) bye!
JANET : Bye!...( now alone, pours herself a glass, sips )....yeah..( cross her legs )....the life!

ACT ONE
Scene Two
Mr Edward and the kids arrive at the lounge. The kids stare around curiously. There is a bar section for drinking, a relaxation area, games section, and lots more. It is one large, good looking lounge. Anyone would want to hang out there. Well....I guess not anyone.
ELAINE : this is one fancy lounge, what do you guys think?
BETH : and so begins my life of crime.
JAMES : to quote the great Shakespeare,.....I don't wanna do this!
ELAINE : he never said that
JAMES : you can't prove anything!
ELAINE : he never said that
MR EDWARD : woah, calm down guys. You're at Louis's luxury lounge. One of the most relaxing places in the city. People travel far and wide to come here.
BETH : Yeah, fugitives, with fake IDs and passports.
JAMES : ( nodding his head in agreement while looking around, whispers ) we should probably call the cops.
MR EDWARD : okay, you guys have to understan.....
Drey cuts in behind him. He works at the bar section and is a good of Mr Edward.
DREY : the big man is here!
MR EDWARD : Drey!
They shake hands. Drey extends his hand towards Elaine for a handshake.
DREY : You must be Elaine.
ELAINE : yeah, you've seen my movie scene huh?
DREY : Of course, fantastic stuff, watched it few days ago but I already knew your name before then.
ELAINE : how?
DREY : ( turns to Edward ) want me to keep guessing your kids names?
ELAINE : um you didn't guess.
MR EDWARD : oh, my manners, Drey, these are my little adorable ones, Beth and James. Kids say hi.
Beth and James growl.
DREY : real adorable.
Drey turns to leave.
BETH : Drey?
DREY : yeah
BETH : what's that, like a jail name or something
DREY : what? No!...( thinks ).....I mean...No!
ELAINE : Okay will you two can it?
JAMES : we'll can it when we see the cops.
DREY : you guys really don't know where you are.
