THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️
Chapter 38☯️☯️☯️
~
Cassie's POV
~
Mr Ken came to an abrupt stop when we got to a door. It looked very ancient. Almost everything here looked ancient..
He gently pushed the door open and and motioned for me to get in first.
No way.
"I'll go in right after you." I said to him and nodded..
I followed him closely behind as we got inside.
My eyes widened in horror as I saw a couple of those creatures that attacked the school that fateful night.
"What the hell are those things doing here?!" I asked, fear evident in my voice.
"Don't worry. They won't harm you. Not unless they're ordered to." Mr Ken said.
"What? Ordered? You were behind the attack at school that night weren't you? You ordered one of these creatures to attack us." I accused him.
"In as much as I would like to take the fall for that, I can't because I didn't give the orders." He replied.
"Then who did?" I asked him.
"Shush. We're here." He shut me up.
We got to a hall that had a round table at the center. There were five people sitting round the table.
Something about them reminded me of the Elementals.
"Who are....." I was about to ask something but was cut off.
"Quiet!" Mr Ken shut me up once again.
I decided to keep it down.
"Your honors. I, Mr Ken Griffey as promised have brought to you the Fifth Element." He said to those people with his head slightly bent in respect.
Are These the people he works for or something?
"You have done well Ken." One of them spoke.
"Indeed. He has." Another spoke up.
One of them, a female, stood up from her chair and tailed closer to me.
She was standing directly in front of me now, examining me or something.
I tried much as possible not to look scared or intimidated by her.
Blink less. Maintain eye contact. Squared chin. Clenched jaw. And Don't breathe, if possible.
That was how I thought best to fool them into not seeing through me and seeing how truly scared I was right now.
"She looks just like her mother. And absolutely nothing like her father. What a shame." The lady said looking at me right in eyes.
"Although, she does seem to have her father's stance. An unwavering bravery I sense. Or am I supposing too early." She said still looking at me.
I don't know how but I remained still in my movements and not saying a word.
"Do you not speak child?" She asked me waiting for an answer but I kept silent.
I noticed her clench her own jaws. She must be feeling annoyed now.
Good for her.
"Enough Angelica. Let the girl be." One of the knights of round table spoke.
I guess that's what I'll call them. Knights of round table.
Funny.
I didn't know when a slight chuckle escaped my lips. I caught myself by placing a hand on my mouth.
So much for being in control Cassie.
"Something funny...child?" The Angelica lady asked me.
Her eyes looked vicious now.
I opened my mouth to say something but decided to remain silent.
I noticed them staring at each other. As if saying something with their eyes.
One of them nodded his head and every other person seating stood up from their chairs and left the hall.
Lady Angelica gave me a death glare before closing the door behind her.
It was just me, Mr Ken, And one of those knights.
"Cassidy Fairchild. I'm glad to have you here." The man said to me.
"Yeah. I would say 'me too' but it's not like I'm here by my own free will so.." I said to him.
"I understand. But you also have to understand us. You wouldn't have agreed to come here if had just asked nicely now would you?" The man said.
"Why am I here? And I hear you know something about my real parents?" I asked him.
"Yes I do know a lot about your parents. As a matter of fact, your father and I were best of friends back in the day." He explained.
"You were friends with my father?" I asked him again.
"Yes. Brothers If I to say. We always had each other's backs and supported each other in everything." He said to me.
"Oh. What was he like? And what happened to him exactly?" I was suddenly interested in the topic.
"He was a great man of valor. Fearless and bold. He always stood up for what's right and took a stand. He spoke his truth all the time and perhaps that's what got him hated by many. At the end he was betrayed by someone dear to him. It's quite sad really." He said to me.
"He was hated? And was betrayed? By whom?" I asked him.
He looked reluctant to tell me this part.
"I don't know if I should tell you." He said looking out of the window.
"Well you can't stop now. You've already started." I say to him.
"He was betrayed by the woman he thought he loved. The one dear to him. Your mother." He said still looking out the window.
"What?"
"I'm sorry dear but it's true. Your mother murdered your father." He said now facing me.
"What? That's not possible. How and why? How could she do that?" I asked him feeling heartbroken.
This is not what I imagined when I wanted to know about my real parents.
"She didn't believe in your father's crusade. She didn't want to support him so she chose to betray him in the worst way possible. She murdered him in cold blood and hid you away. Because she knew I would come to find you." He explained.
"I still don't get how she could do something like that. How could she kill her own husband? Just like that and for what just because she didn't like how he operated? If what you say about him always speaking the truth is true then that means he's a good man and she killed him because of it?" I was venting now.
I could not bring myself to believe this.
How could she do it?
"That is what I asked myself all these years. How could she take away a good man's life just like that? But it's as of recent I got to understand why." He said to me.
"Can you tell me?" I asked him and he nodded.
"It's the school. They made her do it." He said.
"Huh? The school? How did they do that?"
"Those people you call the elementals are not the good people you think they are. It's only a facade. They are the main villains of our lives and we must get rid of them before they make more damage. Especially to the innocent students, atleast the ones who are still innocent like yourself." He said convincingly.
"Why do you say that? What has the elementals got to do with this?" I asked him.
"Everything. They are the ones who poisoned your mother's mind against your father. The put so much hate in her towards your father which made her break later and murdered him. The elementals are to blame as much as your mother is." He said to me.
"This is all so confusing." I managed to say.
"I know it's a lot to take in. But trust me Cassie, the elementals are the enemies we have to get rid of." He said.
"Trust you when I don't even know you." I spat at him.
"Then get to know me. Your father would have wanted you to." He said to me.
"I don't know. How am I supposed to trust you? You do realize that He's been taking my blood for some sort of experiment right? And you tell me to trust that? How do I even know you're not making all these stories up." I said to him.
"I'm sorry about the blood thing. It will not happen again unless you approve of it. And I am telling you the truth Cassie." He said to me.
"If you're really telling me the truth then why don't you let me figure that out myself. I am capable of knowing whether you're lying to me or not." I said to him.
He paused for a while probably thinking about what I just said.
"How will you be able to do that Cassie?" The man asked me and briefly looked to Mr Ken.
"Sorry can't tell till I know I can really trust you." I say to him.
"Well Ofcourse. You can do what you must, you'll see I have nothing to hide.." he said and smiled.
"Okay. I can't do anything now because he put something that apparently blocks the magic inside of me." I said and gave Mr Ken a glare.
"Yes. It's only a precaution around here especially when someone new shows up. It won't happen again also." He said to me.
"Okay then. I guess I'll wait it out. After that I'll know everything I need to know." I say and gave them both a smile. It didn't reach my eyes.

JAKE'S POV
I can't believe Cassie's been kidnapped.
How could I not smell something fishy right from when I didn't see her this morning.
I have to do something.
"Jake, we're only letting you know about this because we consider you one of us. Please do not disclose this information with anyone else until we're sure of what to do." The principal said to me.
"Sure of what to do? How about we go and search for her! Staying here and talking won't do anything but delay what is meant to be done." I said angrily.
"Calm down boy." Mr Anderson said to me.
"Right. I should calm down while Cassie is out there suffering."I spat at him.
"We don't know for sure if she's suffering. Let's try and be positive." Mrs Stone said to me.
What is wrong with these people?
How can they be so calm as if what's happening now is not a big deal.
We need to do something.
"This is crazy. You're all crazy. Cassie's been kidnapped and all you people do is stay here and chitchat. Crazy!." I said to them all and went to the furthest chair away from them to sit.
I need to think of a way to get Cassie back ASAP.
Three of them were still talking calmly when Mr Anderson suddenly focused on the door.
He went close to the door, held the knob for a few seconds and suddenly opened up the door exposing some people who were outside the office.
He talked with them for a while and let them inside the office.
It was Phoebe, Sage and Cara.
What the hell is Cara doing here?
I hope she didn't follow me here.
I thought I told her to stay put at home especially at late hours, I guess she's stubborn that way.
The principal said something about Cassie's kidnappers being the enemies and going to use Cassie as leverage which I think is the more reason why we should do something like now.
"All of you here today, we must not let this news get out atleast for now. You don't need to worry. We the Elementals will come up with a plan on how to get Cassie back and you all must focus on your training, even more so now. They invaded our school right under our watch, we must be careful more than ever." The principal gave a lecture.
I chuckled inwardly.
"For now, you all are dismissed. Please return to your dorms." She said dismissively.
Cara simply rolled her eyes and walked out of the office, Phoebe followed suit. Sage hesitated for a moment before going with the rest.
"You too Jake." The principal said to me.
"Seriously? But we haven't come up with a plan yet." I said to her.
"You'll be informed when we do. You're still a student so please stick to the rules. Go back to your dorm, it is late." She said to me without looking my way.
The other Elementals remained quiet and got busy with unimportant stuffs.
"Fine. Whatever." I stormed out of the office with anger.
How could they be this way?
Because Cassie isn't one of their kids?
When I got to the far end of the office, about to go to the abandoned building to think about everything that's happening, I was cornered by my sister, Cara, Sage and Phoebe.
"What is this about? Aren't you guys supposed to be in your dorms by now? You're breaking the rules by lingering around past bed time." I said them.
"Right. Please spare us oh rule abider!" Cara mocked me.
"Whatever I don't have time for this." I said to Cara and was about leaving them standing there but Sage blocked my way.
I chuckled slightly.
"What are you doing? Like your brother isn't enough trouble for me." I said to her and she glared at me.
"Cara please tell your friend to get out of my way. Oh wait, I forgot, you both aren't friends anymore. So remind me exactly why you're together now that you hate each other when you should be at each other's throats?" I asked them.
"Can you stop being an ass and listen to what we have to say?" Sage spat at me sounding annoyed.
"What could you possibly have to say?" I asked her.
"Jake could you please just stop." Cara butted in.
"We want to find Cassie. But we can't do that without your help." Sage said to me and that immediately got my attention.
I kept silent, thinking about what she had just said now.
"So what do you say jakey, are you going to help us find Cassie or not?" Cara asked me and smirked.
She knew exactly what my answer would be.
"Do you guys have a plan?" I asked them.
"I guess that means yes." Sage said and gave a little smirk as well.
"We don't have one yet." Phoebe said and I turned to her.
I stared at her blankly.
"The plan....you asked if we had a plan. We don't have any. Yet. Infact that's why we need you. You're more experienced than we are especially with the outside world beyond this school." Phoebe explained.
They're not wrong though.
I have seen how it is outside of this school more than any one of them.
"Okay. Then I suggest we better come up with something." I said to them.
"The sooner the better. How about we start now? " Sage suggested.
"I'm sorry, but I thought you didn't like Cassie. How come you're her greatest friend now?" I asked Sage.
"My closeness with Cassie is none of your business." She said to me.
"Right. I see. I'm just surprised that's all." I said to her.
I haven't seen or heard her speak more than five lines to anyone ever since she changed.
I guess Cassie is somehow bringing out her old self back to the surface.
"So....are we doing this or not?" Cara asked.
"We are. But not here in the open. Let's go somewhere to properly put things down. Follow me." I said to them and went up to the abandoned building and they all followed closely.

Madeline's POV
~
I tried as much as I could to take my beauty sleep but it just wasn't working.
Where the hell is Cassie?
This girl has been stressing me out ever since she got here.
Why did she have to go with that damned security guard when I was clearly against it.
And now Sage tried to make me feel guilty as if I wasn't caring enough.
I have absolutely nothing to be guilty about. I didn't ask her to follow that guard.
But... what if she's actually missing?
I mean, there's no way she's still with the elementals up until now.
There are rules. Students aren't allowed to stay out till now. Everyone should be in their dorms especially at this hour.
Oh no! I'm beginning to get scared.
What if Cassie's been kidnapped or something.
Wait....I just remembered something.
"Yes! The abandoned building. Didn't she spend a night there one time because she was mad at me? Could it be she's there right now? Did she go there to stay away from everyone or because she's mad at someone again? I have to find out to be certain." I said to myself.
Okay. I'm doing this. I'm going to the abandoned building. I need to be sure.
If she isn't there, then one thing is certain, Cassie's missing.
~
I tiptoed my way through the hallway, trying not to make much sound as possible.
When I succeeded in getting past the people points, I was now standing in front of the building.
I always hated this building. It always seemed creepy to me.
I climbed up the stairs and held the entrance door knob.
"Ew. Grossed out." I say out loud.
I gently pushed the door open and made my way in.
I looked around for any sign of Cassie and saw something. A light.
Someone is definitely here.
I walked straight towards the direction of the light but was caught off guard when the light was suddenly put out.
Thank goodness I came with my flashlight.
I flashed the light on that direction again and saw a figure. Actually four figures.
I couldn't keep it down.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!" I screamed out loud but someone swiftly came to me and covered my mouth, preventing me from screaming further.
The lights were turned on again and now I saw them clearly.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?!!" I practically yelled at them immediately Phoebe let go of my mouth.
All staring at me like I had two heads.
Jake. Sage. Cara. And Phoebe.
