Seeing the teardrops in her eyes, Joshua Sulliven felt a pain in his heart. He tilted his head forward, gently kissed the teardrop at the corner of her eye, and said softly, "It will be alright, many people have successfully detoxified."
Keira Leaf lowered her eyes, the water droplets still trembling on her eyelashes.
"Do you want to eat?"
Keira shook her head, clearly having no appetite.
Joshua didn't force her. He arranged the quilt for her and then lay down beside her.
When Keira woke up again, she seemed somewhat lost.
It appeared she had slept for a while, or perhaps she had just wandered through an illusory pain and discomfort.
Turning her body, Joshua was still leaning against the headboard, flipping through a report, but seemed somewhat distracted.
Seeing her turn around, he put down the documents in his hand, planning to go out and bring in the food.
