Chapter 55 - Bonding?

The wind lashed at my cheek furiously, and the numbing dry taste of air in my mouth. 

for life as my hair stuck to my face blurring my vision. 

"Ah," Marcus shouted from the other end of the bird, covering his eyes with his hands, "My glasses!" He exclaimed, his head spinning in various directions searching for the glasses which were now stolen by the wind. 

I heard the shriek of the other students slowly merging into one as the bird twisted its body. My arms were flailing in desperation, while the harness and strap of my saddle clung on for dear life, and my hair stuck to my face like thin needles poking my eyes, obscuring my vision. 

 I really felt as if we were going to nosedive straight into the ground. 

Just then, during a surge of trepidation and fear the unpredictable creature swerved up and began to drift calmly.
