Chapter 4 - Danger lurks.

"We are going to be late, everyone pack your things, we are going back right now," Vince shouted as he stared at some of his team members who were still sleepy. They had taken turns guarding the camping site against wild animals or assassins from other organizations as it was still not very far from the forest. It was not very dark around 5:00 am. Little Seven rubbed her bleary eyes and walked to the river to wash her face. She then joined the team as they jogged back to their "home". She had a blank look on her face as she threw a glance at her team members whom her had trusted wholeheartedly at the beginning of this journey. She pursed her lips when she recalled what transpired last night when she had gone to relieve herself in the nearby bush. She had felt somebody staring at her and before she could find out more about her stalker she was knocked out using a stick and thrown into the river. She struggled to breathe and tried swimming but it was getting increasingly difficult as her consciousness was slowly slipping. Little Seven was thankful for the experiments made on her body which made her stronger and very agile. As she was about to lose consciousness she felt a hand pulling her sinking body out of the water to the surface. When she woke up in the middle of the night she discovered that she was on the banks of the river with wet and muddy clothes. She knew that one of her team members had tried to drown her while another member had come to her rescue. She walked back carefully while watching her surroundings to join the rest of the team members back at the campsite.

The just-risen sun shone softly on the dewy grass in the mountains, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity. Six members of a team made an entrance to a place surrounded by large walls on the outskirts of the city. The place was very hidden from the public eyes and not many people knew about it except for the members who could enter and leave that place. After they verified their identities they matched inside the organization and went to their various dormitories to change.

Seko held the girl's shoulder before she could take any step further and whispered "Be careful, don't trust anyone" before turning around to leave. Little seven froze in place, but she didn't require rocket science to understand that the person who saved her from drowning last night before placing her at the river bank was this good-looking big brother. The question was, who among her team members wanted her dead that badly? She was very suspicious of Yamaha but her gut feeling was telling her not to eliminate anyone from her team as her suspect as they were all comrades of Manu except her big brother Seko.

She cursed softly as she thought of the impending danger that lurked beneath the surface. She knew she had to be careful moving forward and for that to happen she couldn't afford to be helpless and weak. Being weak made her watch one of her teammates die and almost made her drown. She acknowledged that weakness around this place would make people feed on you like prey. Her big innocent eyes had begun to be replaced by a blank face with sharp eyes that could pierce through one's soul. She made an immediate vow to train so hard that she could protect herself from being the prey to being the predator.
