"If I'm not drinking, then all I have is water," Connor Osborne shrugged and turned to look at the water dispenser. Well, the dispenser had been empty for a while.
"I'll go to the kitchen to boil some water," Scarlett Zimmerman turned and walked toward the kitchen.
The kitchen hadn't been used in a long time; it was spotlessly clean, much like a showroom in a home market, without a trace of cooking fumes, giving off a dismal and lonely feeling.
Scarlett wanted to boil water, but ultimately found that even the kettle was broken. As for why it was broken and when it had broken, Connor said he wasn't sure.
Scarlett, having no choice, finally opened Connor's refrigerator and fortunately found two unopened bottles of mineral water. She checked the date—it hadn't expired—so she took one out and tossed it to Connor.
