She buried her face into her knees, her shoulders trembling slightly.
For five years, she had hidden in a place he could never find, like a turtle retreating into its shell, a coward afraid to know anything.
And five years later, the only thing she noticed was that Regina Brown had become Mrs. Gregory, but she never once considered what those five years had been like for them.
