Chapter Four
So, it turns out he was only picking flowers.
She had thought...
It seems it really was just a false alarm on her part.
Maybe he truly had no intention of pushing her away again, of abandoning her.
But she'd already been pushed away twice, so this time she was especially afraid he might do it again—hide away alone, where she could never find him.
Her heart was deeply restless; even though he was by her side every single moment, she still felt that he might find a way to push her away once more.
Sofia Hamilton curved her lips into a smile and took the flowers from his hands, "They're beautiful."
"Do you like them?"
"As long as it's something you give me, I'll always like it."
She smiled sweetly, but the faint redness in her eyes and the gleam of moisture betrayed her true feelings.
He knew. She must have been frantically searching for him just now.
She was afraid he'd leave...
If he could, he wanted to stay with her, wanted to keep walking forward together.
