Chapter 260 - Chapter 256:- Slacking Off

[GLOBAL HERO HQ – United Nations Hero Council – Geneva, Switzerland]

Dozens of heroes from every major nation sat around a circular table. Screens behind them showed global crime data. Every graph was flat. No spikes. Just silence.

Captain Valor (USA's No. 2 Hero) leaned forward, eyebrows scrunched.

Captain Valor:

"What the hell is going on? Zero incidents for two weeks straight? Not even a bank heist?"

Commander Fuego (Mexico):

"Cartels have gone dark. Gangs? Nothing. It's like the world just stopped misbehaving."

Lady Eclipse (UK):

"Crime reports are at historic lows. Cities that used to bleed chaos every night are now... calm."

Ken'ichi the Titan (China):

"This isn't peace. This is preparation. Something's coming. Something Big."

But his warning didn't carry weight. People chuckled.

Stars and Stripes (USA's No. 1 Hero):

"Relax. Maybe our hard work finally paid off. We've pushed them into hiding."

Captain Valor nodded.

"Exactly. We've been hammering down on them for years. Maybe it finally stuck."

Laughter spread around the room.

Patrols were cut in half.

Rotations lightened.

Hero lounges filled with relaxed laughter and board games.

The media declared a "Golden Era of Global Peace."

But not everyone felt at ease.

From the Indian delegation, Veer Aryan, tall and silent until now, stood up slowly. His face was calm, but his eyes were sharp.

Of course! Here's a refined version of Veer Aryan's dialogue—keeping everything intact, clear, and emotionally grounded without using complex words or sentences:

Veer Aryan (India):

"I don't like this. Not at all. Peace is good, yes... but this? This is too sudden. Too clean. Too perfect. Crime doesn't just disappear overnight like this. It goes down slowly, step by step—not all at once.

And honestly, we haven't done anything that big to cause such a drop. Just a few days ago, we were struggling to keep up with rising crime. And now, suddenly, nothing? Not even small-time thefts or street fights?

It's too quiet. Way too quiet. Feels like someone planned this—put everything on hold, like they're setting the stage for something worse. This isn't normal. This isn't peace. This is something else. We need to stay alert. We need to be ready."

Kavya Sen, her hands gently glowing with heat, crossed her arms.

Kavya Sen (India):

"This isn't a victory. It's a warning. The enemy isn't beaten. They're preparing, it's a tactical retreat."

Dev Mehra, India's lead tech ops hero, pushed up his glasses.

Dev Mehra (India):

"We're tracking villain activity globally. Several major villains from the past few years have gone completely dark. No trace. No digital footprint. That's not normal. It's very suspicious."

Captain Valor scoffed.

"Maybe they're just scared of us. Maybe we finally crushed their will."

Stars and Stripes leaned back in her chair, arms folded.

"You folks need to learn how to celebrate a win."

Veer Aryan looked around the room, disappointed.

"Fine. But when this silence turns into a storm... remember who told you first."

And with that, the Indian delegation left quietly.

[LOCATION: INDIA – HERO HQ – DELHI]

The Indian team regrouped immediately. Their command room was lit up with maps, surveillance feeds, data streams, and satellite scans.

Veer Aryan stood before a large digital map of the world.

Veer Aryan contemplating something said, "They didn't believe us. They think this quiet is peaceful. But we know better. This isn't peace… it's the silence before the storm."

He turned to his team, eyes sharp with focus.

"Remember what Shree Krishna said once—'Sometimes, running away from the battlefield isn't cowardice… It's a strategy. So you can strike back stronger when the time is right.'"

He looked ahead, determined in his voice.

"That's what they're doing. They've stepped back… not because they're scared, but because they're planning something big. So we'll prepare too. We'll keep our eyes open. While they sleep thinking they've won, we'll stand guard."

Kavya Sen agreeing to Veer said in a serious tone, "Yes, we won't slack off. We won't celebrate yet. We will prepare."

Dev Mehra added typing rapidly

"We've already flagged over a hundred villains worldwide who've disappeared completely. This isn't a win. It's definitely a reorganization. They're regrouping. Coordinating."

Veer Aryan nodded, "Then we do the same. We fortify every major city. Increase surveillance. Prepare evacuation protocols. If no one else will take this seriously, we will. Keep the offensive team on standby, we might need them anytime.

Put up all the villains and their registered quirks on the chart, and start preparing our men to counterattack them and their quirks, we need to always be ready for whatever comes towards us."

Kavya Sen with quiet resolve added, "It will be done. We'll be ready. No matter what comes our way, we'll make sure our country stays safe no matter what happens."

Dev Mehra:

"And when the world wakes up... we'll be the ones still standing."

(A/N: If Stars and Stripes comes off as dumb here, I honestly don't care. First, we barely know much about her, and in the canon she was introduced as the strongest quirk user—only to die in just a couple of panels. That was a very dumb move. She was hyped up, compared to All Might, and couldn't even last five chapters. So if she seems dumb here, it's fine. She already went out in a dumb way.)

[MEANWHILE – AROUND THE WORLD]

Beneath the surface, evil was festering — not acting like a pack of rabid dogs, but as a highly organized syndicate.

EUROPE – UNDERGROUND BERLIN FACILITY

Slice, Mummy, and Rook sat across a long black table. A digital map flickered in front of them. Hidden cameras showed every hero station in Europe.

Rook: "They've dropped patrol frequencies by 40%."

Mummy: "Perfect. We're drawing new borders soon."

Slice: "One strike per country. Same night. No warning. Maximum impact."

A network of encrypted lines lit up as they sent signals to other cells.

---

NORTH AMERICA – NYC – ABANDONED SUBWAY NETWORK

Wolfram, Chimera, and Ethereal were setting up bunkers and surveillance across all five boroughs.

Wolfram: "Don't touch the surface until the signal drops."

Chimera: "And the signal?"

Ethereal: "A blackout across hero comms. We already have a worm in their system."

Their goal wasn't just chaos—it was subjugation through control.

SOUTH AMERICA – BRAZILIAN RAINFOREST

Nine, barely recognizable in his regenerated body, was injecting enhanced soldiers with test quirks.

Nine: "The first generation of soldiers is almost stable. Soon, Brazil won't need a president. Just a king."

His test subjects kneeled before him—twitching, unstable, but powerful.

AFRICA – CAIRO'S CATACOMBS

Pharaoh, along with Kinoko and Beast, stood among awakened ancient golems laced with fungal spores.

Pharaoh: "We rise when they sleep. Let them dance in the comfort of peace… before the sand buries them."

ASIA (EXCLUDING JAPAN) – SHANGHAI – SECRET HUMARISE BASE

Dogra, Magra, and remnants of Humarise oversaw a lab where stolen quirks were being extracted and duplicated.

Dogra: "Quirks made humans arrogant."

Magra: "We'll make them humble again. In pieces."

AUSTRALIA – OUTER SYDNEY – FLOODED BASE

Fleck Turn prepared a massive broadcast system.

Fleck: "I want the whole world watching as their heroes fail. We'll stream the downfall. Live."

GLOBAL COMMUNICATION HUB – ANTARCTICA

Ujiko Clone activated the central sync hub.

Ujiko: "Phase Zero complete. Crime rate: intentionally reduced. Hero patrol drop: confirmed. Next Phase: 'False Peace'. Synchronize operations for D-Day in 14 days."

[JAPAN – UA HIGH]

Meanwhile, Japan remained blissfully unaware. But one or two heroes felt something was... off.

All Might (visiting UA): "Have you noticed it, Aizawa? The quiet? It doesn't feel right."

Aizawa: "Yeah. It's the kind of silence before blood hits the floor."

> Across the world, villains weren't just lurking — they were evolving. No longer driven by madness and impulse. They were now united, strategic, and terrifyingly patient.

> And as heroes laughed, took breaks, and attended parties... the world stood inches away from collapse.

Scene: Somewhere in the shadows of the world — AFO's Syndicate Headquarters

The lights are dim. A massive round table glows with a digital map of the world. Red dots blink slowly across major cities—London, New York, Cairo, Istanbul, Seoul, Cape Town, Rio, Delhi, and more. The screen zooms in and flickers as new dots appear. Sitting around the table are the villains from across the globe. Some known faces. Some new. All dangerous.

AFO (through a secure transmission, voice distorted):

"The world is sleeping. Even the sharpest minds have dulled with comfort. This... is our moment."

Nine:-

"Everything is in place. I've already deployed my subordinates to Seoul and Busan. No resistance expected."

Flect Turn:

"New York's heroes are a joke. All bark, no bite. I'll start from the underground. Let them watch their city rot from the inside."

Wolfram:

"Already planted seeds in Chicago and Detroit. Old gangs are eager for revenge. I'll give them the tools they need."

Slice:

"Paris and Berlin are crawling with bored heroes. Easy targets once the chaos starts."

Escobar:

"Mexico is quiet. I'll handle that personally. Cartels owe me favors. They'll help, or they'll be erased."

Re-Destro (arms folded, serious):

"Detnerat still has assets in Eastern Europe. With the proper chaos, we can rise again. The Liberation ideology never truly died."

Pharaoh (leaning back):

"I'll monitor Africa from a distance. If they get brave, I'll silence them."

AFO (voice slow, deliberate):

"Good. Do not strike yet. Let the silence stretch. Let the heroes get used to comfort. Let their minds go soft. Then... we strike. Together. On my signal."

Everyone nods. Each leaves with calm, collected purpose. No fireworks. No fanfare. Only silence. The screen zooms out, showing every continent blinking red—except Japan.

Scene: Back in India – Veer Aryan's Underground Monitoring Base

Veer Aryan (standing before a large tactical display):

"They've stopped believing. So let them sleep. We'll stay awake."

Saanvi Raaz (his second-in-command):

"All channels are quiet. Villains have vanished from public view. Not a single movement since last week."

Veer Aryan:

"Which means they're moving underground. We track them. Every whisper. Every shadow. No matter how quiet."

Saanvi:

"And when they strike?"

Veer Aryan (eyes serious):

"Then we show them who never let their guard down."
