Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 : A Brand New World (Part 3)

(Alexander Point Of View)

I stood atop a hill overlooking the village, my gaze tracing the vibrant tapestry of life below.

The warm hues of sunset bathed the village in a gentle glow, casting long shadows that danced with the lively movements of the villagers.

As I marveled at the simplicity and beauty of the scene, a familiar voice echoed in my mind.

Ddraig: "Oi, partner ! How long are you going to stare at those villagers ? It's getting dull."

I chuckled, my lips curving into a faint smile. Ddraig's penchant for excitement and battle was unwavering, even in those rare moments of tranquility.

"Boring, huh? They're just living their lives."

Ddraig: "Living lives, boring lives! Where's the action, the thrill ?"

Despite Ddraig's complaints, my eyes couldn't help soften as I continued to watch the villagers. Their daily routines, the laughter of children, and the shared love created a symphony of ordinary yet profound moments.

"Sometimes, the quiet moments can be fulfilling, Ddraig. You should try appreciating them."

Ddraig: "Bah! I'll stick to the thrill of battle. But hey, if you enjoy this stuff, I won't stop you."

"I've had enough of fighting, Ddraig, The tower, the battles—it's been an unending cycle."

Ddraig: "Yeah, yeah, a thousand years of fighting—gods, monsters, and everything in between. Does that to you, believe me. I get it. Me and Albion went through a phase like that before."

" .... It's been quite a journey, hasn't it ? From the depths of the Tower to this peaceful village."

Ddraig: " Peaceful, yeah, but it lacks the thrill of our old battles. Remember the time we faced that God with three heads ? Or when we took down that Daemon being with wings of pure light ? Now that was exhilarating ! "

Alexander: "Those were intense battles, no doubt. But there's more to life than constant fighting. These people here... they're rebuilding, growing, living."

Ddraig: " Living, huh ? I guess I can't argue with that. But don't tell me you're content with this peace. You're not thinking of settling down, are you ? . "

At Ddraig words a mix of nostalgia and contemplation, washed over me

Alexander: "No, not settling down. Just finding something more than endless battles. This village, these people—I owe them a debt for saving me . Protecting them feels right."

Ddraig: " Protecting them ? Well, I guess that's a noble cause. But don't let it make you soft, partner. We're warriors, not babysitters."

Alexander: "Don't worry, Ddraig. I haven't forgotten our roots. There's just a different kind of strength in protecting others ."

Ddraig: "... . Hey, partner. Have you had a chance to check out the new system and skills ?"

"Yeah, just took a look. It's... Quite different."

Ddraig: "Different? How so ?"

" See For yourself "

The ethereal glow of the system interface flickered in the quietude of the night. The village lay beneath me , its lights reflecting in the shadows of the El Dorado forest.

"The system recalibrated during my transfer to this new World . Some skills got combined, and there are new ones. It's like they meshed together, creating something truly unique."

Ddraig: "Unique, huh ? Anything particularly interesting ?"

" [Mid-Class God's Eye] now lets me see the boundaries between realms, and [At the Boundary]... well, it's became something more, a bridge between Life and Death .

And check this out, [Valor] aside from negating all mental interference related skills now has the potential to make me the ultimate Hero by this world standards whatever that means ."

Ddraig: (chuckles) " Sounds like you've leveled up in more ways than one."

" True. But, Ddraig, this world is something else. The El Dorado, the people, it's all so... alive."

Ddraig:" It's a world beyond the tower, partner. Beautiful, dangerous, and filled with power. Speaking of which, I've been thinking..."

" About what ?"

Ddraig: " We should start testing our strength against the most powerful beings in this world. I've got an itch for a good fight, starting with this country ruler and the demon near the volcano."

" Always the warrior, Ddraig... but fear not, I have a plan in motion to deal with that pesky demon. It's becoming quite a nuisance to shield the village day in and day out."

With Ddraig's approving grunt, we both settled into a comfortable silence.

Ddraig: " Something's bothering you, partner. Spill it."

Sight I really can't hide anything form him can't I

" It's the tower, Ddraig. I thought I'd be free once I left, but now... it feels like a part of me is lost without it."

Ddraig: "You're not alone, Alexander. I'm with you, always. And don't forget, there's someone waiting for you in this world."

"Thanks, Ddraig. Let's focus on the present. How's Ophis doing ?"

Ddraig: "She's fine, resting in the depths of the Boosted Gear to restore her power. She'll wake up soon."

I breathed a sigh of relief, my unease lifting.

"I Guess we won't be using [Diabolos Dragon God] anytime soon"

Ddraig: "Well, she needs her beauty sleep. Can't have her all worn out when we unleash the big guns. Now, let's see what this new world has to offer. We'll face the challenges head-on, just like always."

With Ddraig's resolute words echoing in my mind, I took a final glance at the village below, the lights twinkling like stars on the Earth. The night air carried a mix of tranquility and anticipation.

Ddraig: "Rest well, partner. Tomorrow, the Red Dragon Emperor takes the stage."

I nodded, acknowledging Ddraig's words, and as the night embraced us, I surrendered to a well-deserved rest.

Tomorrow the dawn of a new chapter in the game of Heroes and Demon Lord begins.
