Chapter 543 - Chapter 543: Brilliance and Ambition

Fortunately, there was no one around Matthew, so the excitement and enthusiasm of the round-faced model did not attract too much attention.

After saying a few excited words, Miranda Kerr seemed to realize something and quickly introduced herself, "Hello, Matthew, I'm Miranda Kerr, a model from Australia. I'm a fan of yours."

Matthew nodded gently, "Hello, Ms. Kerr."

"Just call me Miranda or Kerr," Miranda Kerr flashed a sweet smile again, "that's what my friends call me."

She patted her chest dramatically, "Oh my god, I'm actually talking to Matthew face to face."

Her voice was low, but Matthew could hear it clearly.

As she patted her chest, her already deep cleavage became even more pronounced.

Matthew took a closer look at her. Miranda Kerr was wearing a super sexy black dress with an S cut, held together by only nine buttons, revealing her beautiful figure from the back down to her ankles, leaving nothing to the imagination. She looked stunning.

She had a very charming look, with a round face, round eyes, round nose, and round dimples. Though she didn't have the typical blonde hair and almost pale skin of an Australian beauty, her brown hair and skin looked extraordinarily healthy and natural.

Especially when she smiled, her round, doll-like face was innocent and sweet, incredibly infectious, and effortlessly attracted attention.

Her appearance was naturally appealing, and even if she did nothing, her doll-like face seemed to be smiling at you.

"Sorry, Matthew," Miranda Kerr took several deep breaths, seemingly calming her excitement, "I'm just so thrilled."

She gestured randomly with her hands, "You have no idea how much I like you and your movies. I've watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' in theaters several times."

Matthew's acting skills were not top-notch, but having been in the profession for a long time and being sensitive by nature, he had developed a certain ability to discern performances.

Miranda Kerr seemed very innocent, sweet, and natural, like an ordinary next-door neighbor fan.

However, her natural demeanor seemed very suspicious to Matthew.

Supermodels are never that simple. He had seen Miranda Kerr's name before. While it's hard to say about her relationship with the Elf Prince, later on, she had two Australian tycoons fighting over her in the streets. Could she really be just an innocent girl-next-door?

Karolina Kurkova had not acted like this. KK, like most supermodels, appeared cold and glamorous, did not hide her vanity, and certainly did not act like an innocent beauty.

Of course, Matthew didn't mind these things, but he became a bit more cautious.

Whether you call it being suspicious or vigilant, compared to most people, he was more inclined to view the world with a degree of skepticism. Perhaps many men in their twenties, when approached by a beautiful woman, would think it was because of their looks and charm.

But he had experienced another era of information explosion, where he had seen too many real and fake stories on the internet. Women, especially those in the world of fame and fortune, and even many ordinary women, wouldn't approach a man just because he was handsome.

Indeed, he admitted he was good-looking, and if he were hitting on a woman alongside another man, he would be more likely to succeed.

However, it wasn't just because he was good-looking.

What was Miranda Kerr's purpose for coming over? Matthew didn't want to guess, nor did he need to. This Australian model's appearance, especially her doll-like face, was very appealing to Eastern aesthetics.

This was very rare among models.

"You were really cool in the movies," Miranda Kerr said, her eyes sparkling as if stars were twinkling, "Even cooler in person."

Matthew just smiled at her without saying anything.

Miranda Kerr suddenly covered her mouth, her dimples appearing again as she smiled, looking a bit embarrassed, "Sorry, I'm getting excited again."

"It's okay," Matthew said generously, "I understand."

Originally, he had considered Miranda Kerr as one of his targets for the night, but somehow, things had reversed. Miranda Kerr had clearly made him her target.

Matthew's mind was constantly working. From what he saw at the Victoria's Secret show, Miranda Kerr was not yet a signed Victoria's Secret Angel, and her fame was not significant. She wasn't on par with the likes of Gisele Bundchen or Karolina Kurkova, and she was not even as famous as Alessandra Ambrosio.

Therefore, Miranda Kerr's goal was simple.

This had happened many times before, and Matthew was used to it. Most women who approached him initially did so not because he was handsome or strong.

Mutual benefit often led to better relationships with women.

Matthew smiled and said, "I saw your walk on the runway tonight."

Miranda Kerr looked at Matthew with anticipation, like a little girl waiting for praise, "What did you think?"

"Well..." Matthew searched for the right words, "Cute and sweet like honey, fresh like the first breeze of summer."

"Really?" Miranda Kerr showed appropriate surprise.

Matthew put on a serious and solemn expression, "Of course. Your natural and unpretentious performance on the runway is unique. You're not inferior to the top Victoria's Secret Angels."

Miranda Kerr's dimples appeared again as she smiled genuinely. Such high praise from a big star made her feel a bit light-headed.

This opportunity was beckoning to her. She knew very well that people grow through constant effort. Whether one is greedy or not doesn't matter, as long as one's efforts match their desires.

So, she displayed all her charm, wanting to captivate Matthew Horner.

Miranda Kerr was a supermodel, trained through years of rigorous practice and countless real runways. She had perfected every move, from flipping her hair to exuding elegance or appearing approachable with her naturally advantageous doll-like face and sweet smile.

Following her agent's advice, she played the role of a fan first, then chatted about movies, asking curious questions about Matthew and Hollywood.

Gradually, the two of them walked out to a quiet, spacious terrace, where the cool night breeze had Matthew's jacket draped over her shoulders.

After so many years of "acting," it had become a habit. To become a world-renowned supermodel, one needs thousands of hours of professional accumulation.

Aiming high was perfectly reasonable in Miranda Kerr's eyes. Her constant effort was to reach a larger world and greater heights.

On the terrace, chatting about movies, Miranda Kerr's eyes began to show the brilliance and ambition of a supermodel. If she didn't strive for it, how could she seize opportunities that others fought tooth and nail for?

In the fast-paced, constantly updating field of modeling, where the new always replaces the old, staying popular requires skill.

"By the way, Matthew," Miranda Kerr leaned against the railing, tightening the jacket around her shoulders, "I've noticed something strange after watching Hollywood movies over the past few years."

During their conversation, Matthew had realized that Miranda Kerr knew quite a bit about Hollywood and movies. Besides his films "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," she had frequently mentioned Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

"What is it?" He looked at her.

Miranda Kerr turned to him, "There seem to be more and more sequels in Hollywood, and very few new ideas."

Matthew stepped forward slightly, taking her hand, "The increasing investment in movies means higher risks. People are reluctant to try new ideas because it's too risky. Compared to that, sequels to successful movies are more reliable in terms of returns."

Miranda Kerr did not pull her hand away. Instead, she lightly scratched his palm with her finger, feeling the rough skin there while continuing their conversation, "Is it like this for all movies?"

"No, I'm talking about commercial films," Matthew clarified, "I don't know much about independent and art films. But for commercial films, more than seventy percent of non-sequels and non-adaptations flop at the box office. They can only recoup costs through other revenues. The more innovative and ahead-of-its-time a commercial film is, the more likely it is to flop."

Nowadays, truly original big-budget commercial films in Hollywood were becoming rare.

"I see," Miranda Kerr smiled.

Matthew tightened his grip on her hand, "Kerr, it's a bit cold out here. Shall we go somewhere else?"

Miranda Kerr, having spent over ten years in the modeling world, understood his implication immediately. She stared at him for a while, then gently nodded and handed back his jacket.

Matthew put on his jacket, took her hand, and led her out of the terrace, through the banquet hall, and into the corridor. As they headed towards the elevators, Miranda Kerr asked, "I heard your place is nearby?"

Matthew asked, "Would you like a tour?"

Miranda Kerr gave him a sweet smile, "Wait for me a moment. I need to go to the restroom first."

She turned and headed to the restroom, checked it was empty, and called her agent, "I'm leaving the hotel. Is everything arranged?"

Her agent confirmed it was. Miranda Kerr put her phone back in her purse and returned to meet Matthew. Together, they left the hotel.

Matthew's car was waiting at the hotel entrance. As they got in, he noticed flashlights going off across the street, clearly someone was taking photos.
