Jintae was sucked in by those beautiful, soulful eyes. It was a vortex he couldn't escape, making him a little faint and uneasy. He loved how close she was to him, but also hated it too because he couldn't touch her. He felt so complicated and confused. Sensations he hadn't gotten in a long time were suddenly overwhelming him.
He scooted away from Kyunghee, creating much needed space so that she wasn't stealing all of his air. "I like it better when you don't talk to me," he grumbled, shifting his gaze to the boring TV screen and hearty, fulfilling meal.
"Tch." Scoffing, Kyunghee reached for the chopsticks to resume eating.
Detective Hothead might have a temper and easily got on her nerves, but she knew he wouldn't lay a finger on her. He was all bark and no bite to mess with her head. Strangely though, she enjoyed their conversation more than she thought. It must be the good food, liquid courage and having been once-upon-a-time hometown neighbors that did the trick.
