Chapter 84 - Chapter: Shattered Reflections – Tokyo Breaks, the Crown Deepens

Scene One – When the Streets Forget You

It started in Akihabara.

A digital storefront flickered with static. The screen displayed not deals or anime girls—but blank silhouettes walking in loops.

The store owner's face in the window faded, even as he served customers. People bought items and couldn't remember why. A child stared at his reflection in a window and asked, "Mommy, where did my face go?"

In Shibuya Station, subway lines no longer led where they should. Maps warped. Voice announcements crackled.

"This is… Line 7 to… Nowhere."

The team gathered at Leblanc, all eyes on Ren, a tension in the air like the moment before lightning strikes.

"We have to act now," Makoto said, slamming her hand on the table. "This is no longer just a Palace. It's leaking into the very frame of society."

Tae nodded. "People are being erased. Not killed. Forgotten. This is memory death."

"And if no one remembers us," Futaba added, her voice cracking, "we disappear too."

Scene Two – Real-World Infiltration: Ground Zero

Their destination: an office building in Shinjuku, its top floors warped into a spiraling glass tower that shouldn't exist. Its name was gone. Security guards stood outside, but didn't acknowledge them—eyes blank, smiles hollow.

The team slipped in—Ren, Tae, Makoto, Ryuji, Futaba, and Yusuke—all in civilian clothes. Their outfits shimmered occasionally, flickering with the edge of their Phantom forms.

Inside, it wasn't an office anymore.

It was a museum of forgotten things.

Hallways full of photo albums with missing faces. Name tags that said "?" floating in the air. A schoolroom where every student had the same exact face.

Then came the curator—a humanoid with a porcelain mask, stitched lips, and a clipboard covered in scratched-out names. A mini-boss.

"You have names," it hissed. "That makes you a threat."

Battle broke out in the lobby, warping around real people who couldn't even see them. The curator used Dispel Name, temporarily locking out one party member from being healed or buffed.

But Tae stepped forward—healing with names she remembered.

"Makoto Niijima. Ryuji Sakamoto. Yusuke Kitagawa. Futaba Sakura. And him—Ren Amamiya. You're not forgotten. I won't let that happen."

Her Persona, Nox Salvia, bloomed silver-black flames, purging the name curse.

They finished the fight—but the distortion only got worse.

Yusuke's phone was gone.

Makoto's uniform turned to a gray dress.

And Ren saw his reflection blink at him—and then walk away.

Scene Three – Entering the Fourth Layer of the Crown

The spiral tower cracked. And where the roof should've been, a gate opened mid-air—a swirling vortex of letters, names, ID cards, and swirling silhouettes with blurred features.

The team leapt in, all together.

Layer Four of the Crown felt different.

Cold.

Personal.

Here, they weren't watching others' memories—they were losing pieces of their own.

Makoto forgot why she ever joined the Thieves.

Futaba didn't remember her mother's name.

Tae saw her old clinic… but her own file marked Deceased.

And Ren… forgot the sound of his own voice.

But their Divine Personas pulsed, burning like identity anchors.

They moved forward, holding hands, speaking names out loud like spells.

Scene Four – Tokyo Feels the Rift

Back in the real world, more breaks opened.

Shujin Academy's class list erased student names.

Police reports for the Phantom Thieves returned NULL.

Ichiko Ohya reported that her entire article history vanished. Editors claimed she never wrote for them.

Toranosuke Yoshida's voice failed at his next speech. No one heard him.

And Sojiro, flipping the sign to close Leblanc for the night, paused and stared at his hands.

"...What's my daughter's name again?"
