Chapter 306 - Old Loosers!?

Chapter 306 - Old Loosers!?

"Old Loosers?" Katerea's face contorted, fury and madness flashing in her eyes. She cackled wildly.

"Sure, you beat us back then, stole the Maou thrones. But your smug days are over. We'll erase that shame, crush you here, and take back what's ours!"

As descendants of the original Maou, Katerea, Shalba Beelzebub, and Creuserey Asmodeus had vied with Sirzechs and Serafall for the titles of Lucifer, Leviathan, Beelzebub, and Asmodeus.

They'd lost, stripped of their birthright by "lesser" Devils—a humiliation that fueled their quest to revive the Old Maou Faction's glory, even if it meant plunging the world into chaos.

Azazel leaned back, his grin sharp. "So, what deal did you cut with Ophis? The Dragon God doesn't care about your power grabs. What's she getting out of this?"

Ophis, the infinite Dragon God, was a loner, drifting through the world without meddling in faction wars.

Her unmatched strength kept her off everyone's hit list—otherwise, she'd have been targeted long ago.

Katerea's smirk was icy. "It's not about groveling. We're partners. Ophis gets what she needs, and so do we."

"Partners?" Azazel snorted, mocking. "You're just washed-up Devils. What could you offer Ophis? If she's picking sides, we're the better deal."

Katerea's eyes flared, her pride stung. "A Fallen Angel daring to mock us? Ophis is just a dragon. She can't pull off her plans alone, so she needs us."

Mahiro Toma's lips twitched, watching from his armored stance.

Katerea's ego was a glaring weakness—no wonder she lost to Sirzechs and Serafall. Even with Ophis's boost, her hotheadedness made her predictable.

"Katerea, enough chatter," Shalba Beelzebub snapped, his plush coat swaying in the night air, his voice cold and curt.

"Yeah, let's get on with it," Creuserey Asmodeus added, his samurai-like armor glinting.

Katerea raised her staff, demonic power flaring around her. "It's time the world knows we're back. As true Maou descendants, we'll rule the Underworld again. I am Katerea Leviathan!"

"I am Shalba Beelzebub!" Shalba's demonic aura surged, dark and oppressive.

"I am Creuserey Asmodeus!" Creuserey's demonic power roared, matching the others' intensity.

The trio's combined demonic energy shook the sky, a war cry for chaos. "We'll tear down this corrupt world, built on the graves of God and the old Maou, and forge a new one!"

Azazel doubled over, laughing. "Oh, man, that's straight-up villain garbage. You rehearse that in front of a mirror?"

Katerea's face flushed, her staff sparking with demonic power. "You mocking us, Fallen Angel?"

Azazel ignored her, turning to Vali Lucifer, hovering nearby. "Vali, you didn't join these losers for their 'new world' crap, did you?"

Vali's white armor gleamed, his voice flat. "That's their thing. I'm here for the fights."

Azazel's eyes narrowed. "I said you can fight all you want, but don't mess with peace or wreck the world. That's the one line you don't cross."

"Not my deal," Vali said, shrugging.

Katerea glared at him. "Vali, move it!"

Azazel scanned the sky, grinning. "Four of you, four of us. How we splitting this?"

Mahiro stepped forward.

"Vali's mine."

The system main quest—Defeat the White Dragon Emperor—pinned him to Vali. No way he was letting anyone else take that shot.

Azazel chuckled. "I'd love to knock some sense into that brat, but fine, he's yours. I'll take the loud one with the killer curves." He nodded at Katerea.

Katerea's eyes burned. "You're worse than Serafall. I'll send you to your precious God myself."

Sirzechs and Serafall's demonic auras flared.

"We'll handle Shalba and Creuserey," Sirzechs said. "This is our problem."

"Rias, you and your peerage take the mage," Sirzechs ordered, his tone firm.

"Got it, brother!" Rias spread her Devil wings, soaring toward the swarming magicians, their magic blasts lighting up the night.

"Sona, same deal," Serafall said, her voice sharp but tinged with worry.

Sona Sitri nodded, her wings snapping open as she and her peerage joined Rias in the fray.

Michael sighed, his halo dimming. "I'll stay back and keep things from going south."

Boom! The Two Heavenly Dragons kicked things off. Mahiro shot into the sky like a red meteor, Boosted Gear armor roaring.

He crashed into Vali, their clash sending shockwaves through the air.

Hyōrinmaru's blade slammed against Vali's armor, sparks flying as ice spread across the impact.

"Annoying," Vali grunted, shaking frost off his arm.
