"Actually yes, who did you make a deal with to collect the Sins?" Lucifer asked.
"I suspect you already know who. If I'm right about you two, you're the brother and sister. And before you ask, no, I'm not giving them to him even if that is his intention." Kayn spoke firmly.
"That's not the problem child," the woman spoke this time. "The problem is that you began collecting the Virtues as well. He won't let you live, no matter what."
"I had a feeling that was the case, and I've already started making preparations, even if he is the ruler of the universe or something, he shouldn't be invincible. My problem right now is that." Kayn pointed to the conflicting pieces of his soul.
"My lack of knowledge regarding the Sins and Virtues is ultimately causing them to conflict and I'm going insane, I can feel it. How do I control that or stop it before I can claim the opposite natures? Is there a way?"
"Kid, anytime there is an imbalance between Virtue and Sin, it will lead to insanity. My sister and I tried many things before we eventually came to the conclusion that we needed to give each aspect to a separate individual. It wouldn't allow them a perfect life, but it was better than what they had. That includes you, sure you went through hell, but you were either going to rot in jail or become some scum hobo originally."
"Why not give one Sin and one Virtue of opposite nature to the same individual? Would that not have solved their hardships?" Kayn asked.
"It is incredibly difficult to find someone with the right resonance for a single aspect, it would be almost impossible for them to match with their opposite aspect too. The only way to do it is by being given it directly or forcefully taking it. You should have felt that when you obtained Patience and later on down the road Kindness, that your personality would shift a little bit. That's because while you may be compatible for them, you are not perfectly compatible, so they are changing you to be able to fully integrate them." The woman spoke.
"Continuing on from where my sister left off, that's just a minor drawback, it's actually great for you down the line. The issue is because you NEED opposite natures at the same time or else you will go insane. My sister and I tried giving one or two Sins and Virtues to each other, but the others who weren't matched up would always fight back.
"We couldn't risk a straight transfer of all seven because our damn father would find out and immediately put them back. Spreading them all through the universe and freeing ourselves of their curse was the best option in the end. If you can somehow get all 14 Sins and Virtues before that old man kills you, you have no idea what kind of being you'll become to this universe."
Kayn thought for a moment but replied starkly, "That's good and all, but I have to live that long without going insane first. What do you two suggest I do? Also, how did I call you here in the first place?"
"We can only guess that you somehow poked and prodded the Sin and Virtues enough that they released their final attachment to our souls, thus calling us here for one last chance to reclaim them before they are forever removed from our beings. In all honesty, we should thank you for this." The womanly voice spoke in a grateful tone.
"Bah, she's right. As a thank you, I'll tell you a way to keep from going completely insane, at least for the time being. Keep in mind, this is only a stopgap and you need to collect Envy within the next few years, or else your soul will tear itself apart. I can't say I'm pleased you're destroying all of my hard work, but it'll be entertaining watching you try to kill some of the people I've contracted with!" Lucifer spoke.
"I too, thank you. I would also ask that you display the Virtues you have in order to to gain the others from their holders if you intend to take them as well. They are sweet children, and I would hate to see them perish. I ask you, please just use your words first. I'll even do my best to secretly reach out to them so that they may prepare for your eventual arrival." The woman stated.
"Okay, okay! I'll entertain you, and I'll be as peaceful as I can be with the Virtue holders. Now, please, tell me how to maintain my sanity! Please!" Kayn desperately pleaded as Kindness was once again interrupting the bonding of Wrath and Patience, causing mind and soul splitting pain within him.
"It's simple, let one of them take over for a while." Lucifer spoke nonchalantly.
"What?" Kayn asked dumbfoundedly.
"Yeah, just let one of the aspects take over how you act for a while, and eventually it'll cool down enough for you to be yourself again. I would say Kindness would be the best option to go with as it's the one causing the issues."
"I-I can't do that. I have a war to fight. I have revenge to take..." Kayn answered hesitantly.
"In that case, you only have one choice, don't you? Patience is boring and won't allow you to act. However, Wrath, Wrath will give you the mindset you need to remove all who have wronged you, or the people you love, from the world without remorse or care. Justice will be what you say it is." Lucifer gleefully shared this information, but his sister interjected before he could keep going.
"Child, Wrath is what he says, powerful beyond means. But you must be careful. As soon as you have completed your revenge, you need to shut it down. I also wouldn't recommend letting it take hold for more than 5 to 10 years, or else you'll never be able to come back.
"I will also warn you ahead of time, Wrath only distinguishes between friend and foe. If you see someone as a foe, you will probably kill them, even if they're a child. You must know for sure before you put a label on someone. You won't be able to show mercy to someone you've marked as an enemy, even if you desire to.
"And while I said that you shouldn't have Wrath take over for too long, having it active for too short a period is also detrimental. You MUST complete whatever revenge you have in mind before you turn it off, or else the imbalance will continue, but it would be even worse at that time than it is now.
"Do you understand?"
Kayn's solemn and lonely voice answered her simply. "Yes."
"Good we will leave you to it then. These three aspects will no longer have any connection to us after this, so unless you meet us through others or live long enough to meet us further along your journey, we will not meet again. Good luck to you child." The woman spoke as Kayn felt her presence vanish from his soul space.
"Hey kid, one last thing. Don't let Wrath take over your soul. Just your thoughts and actions. If you do that, you'll come out of this even more powerful than before. Don't die before you can give me a good show with the others though!" Lucifer gave his last piece of advice before he too left the soul space.
Left alone, Kayn stared at the aspects floating around what he assumed was his soul or the representation of it. He reached out towards the black floating cloud, his decision was made.
