The crowd went silent when Carmen suddenly declared to choose Derek as her opponent.
They wanted to complain but halted themselves.
Unlike Carmen's ignorance, the rest knew about Derek's capability. To confront Derek was equivalent to courting death.
However, little did these people know that Carmen wasn't ignorant. She wasn't arrogant either. Arrogant was a term meant for those who talked big but had no skills to back it up.
Instead, Carmen was truly confident in herself to defeat Derek.
And if she happened to lose, then that would be it. To be inferior meant she had more to learn and that 2,000 points would serve as a constant reminder of the incident.
In hindsight, no matter the outcome, she was bound to transform into a new person.
"A-Are you really sure you want to pick me?" Derek raised an eyebrow and inquired. "I don't have many points on me, so 2,000 is a little bit too much."
Seeing how Derek was still acting in his ridiculous role, Carmen lost her patience.
