Shi Yan turned his head, his cold gaze landing on the girl; in that moment, he looked like a predator—an aggressive leopard ready to strike.
The brim of his hat cast a shadow over most of his face. His narrow eyes held pupils as dark as obsidian, encased with shards of ice. It felt as though even sunlight couldn't penetrate the chilling void of his gaze.
Sparrow was visibly intimidated by the sharp edge in his stare.
"Did I say something wrong?"
"She is my fiancée. She always has been, and she always will be. That will never change!"
His voice carried an unyielding obsession, laced with a warning as he spoke.
"But weren't you both already…" Sparrow hesitated, wondering if the information she had was wrong.
Shi Yan brushed past her, continuing forward.
Even though their engagement had been broken off, he would never let go of Yan Zhi!
Sparrow clasped her hands behind her back and skipped after Shi Yan. Her ponytail swayed with each of her playful steps.
