Chapter 58 - 55. Ice Scream! The greatest ghost hunter and a Nail smith.

"Keep it moving Jake, this time I'm not leaving you behind. "Finn said dragging along his brother who had now completely become lazy once more after the food challenge had ended.

The chef had even given Jake an appreciative nod at his great appetite and an invitation to come over whenever he was hungry.

Jake had wanted to go back to sleep once more after he was full but both Finn and Star would not allow it.

"You two don't get it. There are certain things in this life that just have to go together. A good story and then a good nap, a cool glass of milk and then an afternoon nap and most importantly, a full stomach and then an afternoon NAP! There needs to be balance in everything and you two preventing me from taking that nap is throwing off my whole cosmic balance, you get me?" Jake said seriously, enough, that Finn was confident he had managed to delude himself with the nonsense he was saying.

"Noo." Both Finn and Star said at the same time, but it only took some scratches and pats, and Jake was once more willing to come with them. Unwilling, but he followed along.

Where they were going exactly, this time it was the weapons section of the current festival. The map they had conveniently bought allowed them to easily navigate the blood moon festival.

They passed a stall selling ice cream and they each grabbed a bite after which they moved on.

Finn picked up a flavor called soul scream, why it had such a strange name, maybe the smiling face on the frozen desert was a good clue.

"I'm sorry Mr. Ice cream, your too delicious. "Finn said licking the frozen goodness once more. He was very sure the ice cream smiled back. But in this weird land called Ooo, that was simply the circle of life.

Star and Jake picked more normal flavors, mint chip ice cream for Star and raspberry explosion for jake.

"I hope you enjoy my taste…" The ice cream jake held tried to speak only to be interrupted,

"Your need to offer a statement to delay your coming doom is unappealing." Jake said in a strange voice as he licked the face of the Ice cream, ending whatever statement it was about to say.

They all suddenly looked at each other and burst out in laughter. Even the Ice cream face on Star's ice cream was smiling at the Joke.

It was a nice treat for them as they continued walking around the festival.

...…Adventure Time

"Yes, yes, it is I Skulker, the best hunter in the whole of the ghost realm, no prey I set my eyes on has managed to escape from my grasp. Let me in fact show you, my collection. The head of the berserk ghost yeti hidden deep in the blizzard ghost zone; it's said that every explorer going there has never returned, frozen into ghost ice. The skull of the Hammer head acid shark, said to reside int the deepest trenches of the river of death… All prizes in my collection, all collected with great determination. And you, you did say you were a human right, and his magical dog… I've never hunted a human nor a magical dog before. "

'I met an annoying person.' Finn thought as he scratched his head in pure turmoil.

Flaming somewhat green ghostly hair and equally fully green glowing eyes. A muscular somewhat cybernetic built with clothes comparable to what a mercenary or a hunter would wear. Somewhat pale skin, and a touch of a chill in the surrounding. In addition, the person was floating slightly off the ground. Yes, all this added up to describe the ghost Finn was currently talking to. He regretted it now.

A ghost hunter more specifically from what Finn recalled, and it seemed he and his brother had become this ghost's latest bounty.

The ghost hunter was Skulker. A most memorable ghost from the show, Danny Phantom. A ghost whose obsession was to hunt for otherwise unique creatures and items and even on certain occasions prized items. Currently, both Finn and Jake fit the bill of strange or unique creatures to this ghost hunter.

"I'm not really in the mood for being hunted. "Finn said giving the ghost with too much time on his hand a bored look. He even had the though of giving the suggestion to the ghost hunter to go hunt down the Litch. Maybe that would do him some good.

"Hey, what about me, I think I'm pretty rare and unique." Star complained about the bias of the situation, she was the one who had come in the first place to check out the ghost's merchandise, with how cool and flashy it looked. Why was the ghost all off a sudden being biased.

Finn watched the proceeding oddly, not that very bothered at all. The first reason for this was the Nomicon, which had already assured him easily that the flames of the Tengu would be enough to burn any ghost, stupid enough to possess any threat to him. These were demonic flames form a demonic bird after all.

The other reason for this was the fact that Finn was confident enough in being able to create the lethal ghost weapons. If even Dannys father was able to this Finn would find it equally easy. If that failed, Finn would simply take a walk to his old home where Jermaine resided and pick up a few artefacts.

And lastly, what made Finn completely unworried for the threats of the ghost attacking him currently was the fact that illegal fights or battles during the night festival were prohibited and would be immediately stopped by the wizard guards. Finn was sure of this as he had seen several such scenarios come to a halt with a blast from the wizard guards eye powers. A result of which was the offender being turned into a stick.

Finn refocused back onto the conversation happening between Star and the ghost hunter and he finally saw something that surprised him. There was a look of fear on the ghost hunter's face, a look he quickly masked behind a façade.

"You aren't Mewni royalty … right?" Skulker asked hesitantly and Finn focused on his shaking tone. This attracted his attention further. Why was he so scared.

Star smiled proudly and lifted her head high, obviously proud of her own origin. "Yes, I'm Star Butterfly! Current princess of Mewni. "She said happily unaware of the terror she had caused.

Finn was sure if it was a possibility, Skulker would have gone completely white. With how he stood still in shock and started mumbling to himself, in fear and apparent trauma, Finn managed to catch some of what he was saying. Something about a mad umbrella holding woman, killing everything for fun.

'What did Eclipsa do in the ghost realm.' This was what Finn asked himself. Mainly due to Skulker frequent repeat of the name while also mumbling of destruction and some sort of embarrassment. It seemed Skulkers trauma came from this scenario.

He suddenly shook back from his apparent fear and his eyes refocused on them, especially on the three of them, and Finn was unsure why, but he quickly composed himself.

"Well played Finn the human and Jake the dog, for you to have made me lose my composure so easily. Truly worth it for a creature that I myself deem fit to hunt. You may have beat me this time but be warned there will be no next time. "Skulker said and Finn would have been mildly impressed if he wasn't doing his best to completely ignore Star while at the same time spouting a bunch of nonsense.

It was kind of impressive though.

"Hmm." Star did not find it amusing at all. She also wanted to be hunted by a ghost bounty hunter! And who exactly was this Eclipsa person, maybe she should ask her mom. She sounded Kind of cool.

"Anyways, I want to buy a ghost weapon. What do you have?" Finn asked moving past the whole hunting thing. He was here now and having a weapon able to hurt a ghost didn't sound so bad.

Skulker immediately dropped his earlier fear, and a composure returned to him.

"My weapons require ectoplasmic energy to be powered. "Skulker said and shrugged

"So, what's the point of you opening a stall then? "Finn asked strangely looking over everything displayed.

"Obviously to showcase the glory of the greatest ghost hunter!" Skulker said shamelessly with a big smile on his robotic face. And Finn could only imagine how such shameless words could come from a person.

....... Adventure Time

"Bang bang bang. "

The sound of hammering once more. A sound Finn was quickly growing used to, and a sound that came from the current shop they visited. It was an open black smith shop, with all the necessary equipment outside even the current black smith himself who was doing the hammering.

"Bang bang bang."

Surprisingly, there were not that many people around. Now that he thought about it, seeing someone hammer down on a piece of metal was not that interesting, and seeing it happen for long periods of time was even more so. It seemed he did not look as cool as he thought he looked during his own blacksmithing period. What a bummer.

But Finn was here to see if he could get something interesting. Not to replace his current sword, no, but a new sword wouldn't be a bad thing. The sword made by this specific blacksmith was only more desirable to him. It would mostly satisfy both his urge as a collector and a swordsman ant the same time.

"Bang bang bang."

The blacksmith was a large figure, taller than Finn and with a bulky wide appearance. He was of the same species as cornifer, a bug person, form the hollow knight world which Finn was easily able to identify, the only difference being he looked to be a from the beetle family with his otherwise standing long horn appendage and a durable carapace.

The blacksmith had a shaggy beard and wore a brown-worn-looking satchel around his waist, and despite his old looking appearance, the rhythm with which he hit the metal work he was currently working on was constant, with no lag at all, a true master at what he was doing. As Finn had learnt, Rhythm in black smithing was very important.

Finn even had the idea of asking the man to be his teacher, and why not, it would truly be an interesting thing to be able to learn Nail smithing from the nail smith himself.

Finn had been waiting for a while now to be noticed but the nail smith easily ignored him, like he was some sort of air, a truly masterful level of ignoring someone.

So, Finn simply shrugged his shoulders and did what Star had been doing, he started looking around the shop.

From the otherwise broken and old pieces to the polished shiny ones and even to complete bizarre ones. Finn was very interested in this type of sword, or as the people from the Hollow knight referred to it as, a Nail. A somewhat strange-looking weapon, that was equally quite dangerous.

Finn was curious if the blacksmith could achieve the creation of a pure Nail, the strongest version of the sword. Or was it simply still too early for such a thing.

He moved near Star who had taken one of the Nails from display and was now swinging it around, chasing after Jake. These two should definitely not be left alone for long. Finn believed that was a one way ticket for one of them too loose a limb.

"Those are not toys for you two to be playing with child." A calm voice spoke. Calm and aged, directly behind Finn. A shadow suddenly appeared, covering him an forcing Finn to move away slightly.

He looked back, quite surprised at the Nail smith suddenly appearing behind him, he was even more so at the silence in which he had moved with but Finn easily calmed his heart.

The two who had been roughhousing around came to a stop, awkward and nervous in their expressions and with practice care, they settled all they had picked up, from the Nail Star had been swinging around to the over sized pieces of amour Jake was wearing.

They looked down embarrassed and this finally earned them a nod from the Nail smith who had seemingly become satisfied with their actions.

The Nail smiths' eyes then turned to Finn, searchingly in a way, and Finn could only find oddness in the silence.

"I sense a blade in need of repair on you. Take it out, so that I may offer my services." The Nail smith said, slowly as he rubbed his long-greyed beard.

This brought a curious glint to Finn, but he still complied, taking out his first Sword. Scarlet. Its blade still well maintained and its body in good condition.

The Nail smith quickly took the blade into hand, inspecting it carefully with his beady eyes, from the sharpest tip to the rad jewel on the handle. He hummed, clearly intrigued with the blade for whatever reason and Finn was also quite curious to see what he would do.

He wasn't against getting the blade upgraded by a Nail smith. Infact, he was quite curious how the blade would turn out. Scarlet was one of the most normal blades Finn had ever possessed. Even in the original show, the only thing special about Scarlet was that it had been able to cut the black hole machine Smart Finn had invented and taken the black hole property on itself.

Finn wondered how the touch of a Nail smith could improve the blade.

"Come back for it before the festival ends. "The Nail smith said and as quickly as he had appeared, he disappeared once more, and soon enough, Finn heard the sound of banging once again. Truly a man devoted to his art.

"Okay…" He said sharing an odd look with both Jake and Star. Had he just been robbed, where was a responsible adult when you needed one!

...............Adventure Time...........

A/n

To those not in the know how, the previous cook from the other chapter is a character from the game dead cells. The ghost hunter is from the cartoon Danny Phantom and the Nail smith is from Hollow knight.

And Scarlet is getting reforged by a proper Nail smith. I thought to give it some upgrades, mostly because it Kind of a normal sword. And I sad why not.
