AA's pulse vanished at that moment, yet Sun Jack seemed oblivious, running madly, desperately pushing himself forward.
But when the black snow fell once more from the sky, landing on Sun Jack's shoulder, it felt as if crushed by a weight as heavy as a mountain. His legs gave way, and he kneel down holding AA tight.
"Don't die, don't you dare die, I'm begging you! I'm begging you!" Sun Jack bowed his head, trembling as he looked into his arms, only to see AA's face turned gray from blood loss.
In an instant, some emotion surged within him, and Sun Jack felt as if the only thread connecting him to the world had snapped.
He held AA tightly, feeling like his heart was being torn apart, wanting to scream with all his might, yet at that moment, no sound came out.
He had originally thought this clone AA was just his mission, but at the moment of losing her, he suddenly realized that after abandoning the identity of Sun Jack, abandoning the other's purpose, the only thing that truly belonged to him was her, and besides her, he was just an empty shell.
But it was all too late, everything was understood too late.
Sun Jack stayed on the spot for a long time, remained until the black blood completely covered him without stopping. AA's blood seeped through the black snow, congealing into a darker patch of ice.
Suddenly Sun Jack moved, gently placing AA in the snowbank, then with bloodthirsty eyes, he looked at the city ahead.
With the propulsion system spewing flames, his body rushed towards Varanasi with a trail of shadows. He wanted revenge!
Not long after, fire and thick smoke arose from Varanasi, accompanied by explosions, causing even a vast factory area to collapse.
And when the badly wounded Sun Jack, missing nearly half of his head, returned to AA's snowy tomb, he held more than a dozen human heads. Whoever was related to AA's death, he killed them all.
"AA, I've avenged you. They're all dead." Sun Jack said with a hoarse voice as he laid the heads out one by one.
Sun Jack initially thought avenging AA would make him feel better, but it didn't. There was only endless emptiness rising in his heart.
Sun Jack had lost a lot of weight, as he barely ate during this time, and his body could only consume itself, but at this moment he felt nothing.
Suddenly, Sun Jack recalled AA's last words, she said to clone another AA.
Sun Jack almost dismissed the idea, but it grew like weeds in his mind, eventually leading him to dig up the snowbank, retrieve AA's body, and head back toward Varanasi.
In a haze, AA was startled awake by a voice calling her, "AA? AA?"
Groggy, AA opened her eyes, only to find herself lying naked in a transparent chamber. Instinctively, she jumped out, clutching Sun Jack tightly. "Boss!!"
The two seemed to understand something, yet neither mentioned it, they embraced each other tightly and never separated.
And unnoticed in the corner, stood the original Sun Jack, with barely half a face, now skinnier, looking like a skeleton.
He simply stood there watching the cloned AA and cloned Sun Jack, waiting until they were gone.
At this moment, Sun Jack felt as if the burden placed on him by his original self had been inherited by the new clone, finally setting him free to do whatever he wanted.
Sun Jack removed one prosthetic body after another, leaving just a broken, battered body.
He returned once more to the place where AA died, where a pit had been dug, AA's body was placed inside a large coffin, just big enough for two.
Sun Jack took out the last artificial eye, lying directly inside.
With a "bang," the coffin door slammed shut, gradually covered by the snow falling from the sky.
"AA, I feel I've finally found something that truly belongs to me." In the darkness, Sun Jack held AA's body tightly, slowly closing his eyes. "Goodnight, AA."
"Goodnight, Boss…"
"Huh?!" Just as he was about to dismantle his heart, Sun Jack paused, startled, haunted?
The next moment he was suddenly ecstatic, haunted?! Haunted is okay too!!
The heavy lid of the coffin was pushed open again, Sun Jack looked at AA in astonishment, reaching out to feel the pulse, indeed it was gone, touching the skin, indeed it was cold.
Yet in a bizarre twist, AA was rubbing her eyes, showing irritation at being disturbed from sleep.
"AA? AA? You didn't die?" Sun Jack asked frantically, almost shaking AA's head off.
"Huh? I didn't die?!" Fully awake, AA looked at Sun Jack with equal astonishment.
Seeing AA clearly lacking pulse or heartbeat, yet lively, Sun Jack could only think of one possibility.
"Wait! AA, turn on the Pain Editor first." After saying this, Sun Jack carefully opened AA's clothing, cautiously peeling back the skin of her chest, amidst the cold flesh, a walnut-sized strange mechanism was steadily operating.
"When did you install a mini life support system?" Sun Jack shouted, almost ecstatic, AA hadn't become a ghost, AA was alive because of this device!
"Did I install it? Why don't I know?" AA incredulously looked down at her own body.
Sun Jack and AA quickly sorted out the situation, and after reviewing everything, Sun Jack finally found the purchase record of the life support system in his system's shopping list, just mixed in with a bunch of combat prosthesis.
"Boss, did you install this for me? Why did you install it for me?" AA asked, surprised.
"I… don't know, I forgot, it seemed to be an unconscious action." Sun Jack replied as he looked at the pile of lists.
Suddenly he felt a chill as AA smiled and wrapped her arms around him. "Hmph! You were worried about me but didn't express it..."
Watching AA come back to life, Sun Jack had never felt so happy, he smiled, gave a thumbs-up, and leaned back slightly, "Let's go! Let's celebrate properly! I'll take you out for a drink!"
"Yeah!!!"
The two arrived at a buffet, facing an array of gourmet food, they indulged heartily, everything tasted exceptionally delicious to the two who hadn't eaten for a long time.
Their messy eating attracted strange looks from surrounding diners, but they completely ignored it, immersed in their own world.
"Boss, you seem to have something stuck on your mouth." AA pointed at Sun Jack's lip.
"Huh? Where? Here?" Sun Jack pointed to the lower left corner of his lips.
"No, it's here." AA spread her arms, embraced Sun Jack's head, and kissed him forcefully.
