Callum's consciousness expanded like a flower blooming in fast-forward, stretching across dimensional boundaries with the others anchored to him through their bond. What he found in the space between spaces was... unexpected.
"Uh, guys?" he said, his voice taking on a distant quality when dimension-walking. "You're not going to believe this."
"What is it?" Samantha asked, her grip tightening on Marcus and Kai's hands.
"I found her. But she's not alone."
"What do you mean 'not alone'?" Marcus's voice went dangerously quiet.
"She's having a tea party."
The silence that followed was so complete it could have been bottled and sold as a meditation aid.
"I'm sorry," Kai said carefully. "Did you just say our missing infant is having a tea party?"
"With what appears to be... a small dragon? About the size of a house cat. Purple. Very polite. They're sharing what looks like cosmic cookies."
"Cosmic cookies," Samantha repeated flatly.
