Quinlan thought inwardly for a second before realizing that Feng might've been right for once. Somehow, as he examined the heated expression of the teenage girl, he couldn't help but feel more and more proud of his newest achievement with every passing heartbeat.
'When in Rome…'
A wide, sharp, impossibly alive grin emerged on his face.
He rolled his shoulders once, cracked his neck, and suddenly hurled both arms into the air, bellowing with every scrap of energy he had left:
"I just beheaded a literal god! A divine entity! I'm a universally recognized godslayer, baby!!"
The entire valley trembled at the supernatural strength of his voice. Loose rocks tumbled from cliff faces, and the ashes on the ground stirred at the sound, getting carried away by the wind.
Feng flinched so hard she nearly tripped. "You actually did it?! I never thought-"
She didn't get to finish her statement.
