Dylan didn't respond immediately. He stepped inside, shut the door behind him quietly, and made his way to the leather chair across from her. His gaze was calm and unreadable.
"It's a bold move, Laura," he said at last. "Walking around my company like you own it, without my knowledge or consent. I have to admit, it's either very brave… or you want to try me."
Laura offered a slow, unbothered. "Oh, Dylan, if we're going to talk about what's brave and what's trying, I'd suggest we also include dealing with me in that conversation. You know, lying to me. Manipulating me. That sort of thing."
He tilted his head slightly, eyes narrowing. "Manipulate you? Lie? Enlighten me, what exactly did I lie about?"
Laura chuckled, low and sharp like a warning. "Don't insult me indirectly. You know exactly what you've done. And if you don't… Well, that's worse. Either way, you're far more vulnerable than you think."
