"Relax," Alexander said firmly, his voice calm but urgent as he gently pulled a mask over Lilith's face.
Before she could even argue, he crouched down and carefully lifted Sir Sparkleton into his arms, holding the robot's weight like it was nothing. The worry in Lilith's eyes didn't go unnoticed by him, but he didn't say anything more.
"Let's go," he said instead, nodding toward the door.
Lilith stood still for a second, her fingers curling slightly as she looked back at the silent robot in Alexander's arms. Her chest felt tight, but she knew this wasn't the time to panic.
Without another word, she grabbed her keys and followed him, quickly locking the door behind her.
Alexander placed Sir Sparkleton in the back seat of his car with surprising care, then opened the passenger side for Lilith. She got in quietly, glancing back at her robot, the silence inside the car feeling heavier than ever.
