Guan Manling couldn't stop coughing; Old Wu quickly helped her up and supported her back to ease her breathing.
It took a while for Guan Manling to catch her breath. Weakly leaning in Old Wu's arms, she took a couple of sips of water, and her hoarse voice startled herself: "Where are we now?"
"At the provincial city hospital." Old Wu busied about, tucking in the blanket corners and said, "Lingling, hold on for a while, I'll go call the Doctor to check on you."
"Ah..."
Guan Manling wanted to say she was okay, but Old Wu had already dashed out, almost stumbling in his hurry.
Seeing Old Wu's disheveled appearance, she couldn't help but give a bitter smile, her heart aching so much that she almost forgot her own physical pain.
