Jacob had never seen such strange things before.
They had no wings or feathers, yet they could still fly in the sky, buzzing, and they had three eyes.
But what was most astonishing was their bodies, which appeared to have not a single shred of flesh on them, as all the white bones were exposed.
Jacob then noticed that these little creatures seemed to be helping the imperial troops in their pursuit of the mountain wild people.
They soared high above and constantly circled the air, searching for the wild people who had hidden in the woods.
And the wild people, often only focusing on evading the pursuers behind them, couldn't anticipate that the real danger actually came from above.
Once those little creatures targeted someone, somehow without even flying back, they could communicate across a distance to the imperial soldiers on the other side.
And then the unfortunate wild person would be dragged out of their hiding place.
