Ky arrived at Roman's house and wasted no time pressing the doorbell. He stood to the side, exhaling deeply until the door opened to reveal the head maid. They exchanged greetings, and Ky stated plainly, "I want to see Roman."
The head maid nodded, understanding his intent, and motioned for him to enter. After she closed the door, she said, "Please follow me." She led him through the lavish parlor to the dining room, where a large round mahogany table and an impressive chandelier dominated the space. Ky's gaze landed on Roman's back, who was seated closely with Carol, feeding her pineapples. The scene was almost too sweet, and he felt a pang of guilt for interrupting their reunion.
"Roman," Ky called out, and the maid bowed her head before leaving. Roman turned slightly to acknowledge him.
"What's up?" he asked, momentarily turning his attention back to Carol, who lifted her gaze to Ky with a warm smile. "Welcome, Ky. Please take a seat," she invited.
