I was sitting in the dining room, enjoying a breakfast that had been prepared for me when the nurse walked in. Roman had requested her to check on me, and after her examination, she informed me that a test was necessary. I assumed she had returned with the results.
When she came back, I noticed her smile and couldn't help but wonder what it was about. Regardless, I stood up to meet her. "Congratulations, Mrs. Golden," she said, handing me a white enveloped paper, and my eyebrows creased as I collected the paper from her.
"Congratulations?" I thought. What was that about? I opened the paper, and my gaze landed on the positive sign. The reality hit me—I was pregnant, three weeks along, and I was momentarily taken aback. This was completely unexpected.
"Are you not excited, Mrs. Golden? You have a new life growing within you now," the nurse beamed.
