Chapter 257 - Chapter 257 - The Movements of Various Forces

A quiet forest on the outskirts of Tokyo.

The air suddenly rippled with a strange distortion, as if space itself had twisted, causing the scenery to blur and shift.

Then, a faint black ripple appeared out of nowhere, rapidly expanding in midair.

Two figures, a man and a woman, stepped out from the ripple—it was Kenjaku and Uraume, returning from Tokyo Jujutsu High.

"You ran into Gojo Satoru, didn't you? Surprised you managed to get out of the Tombs of the Star Corridor alive," Uraume said expressionlessly.

"There are two reasons for that. First, Gojo Satoru is too confident—so confident it's almost arrogance. He sees himself as the strongest and believes I pose no real threat to him. Even if I escaped, he's convinced he can kill me next time. And, well… he's not wrong." Kenjaku smiled slightly.

"The second reason is that he values this body—Suguru Geto's body—a lot. Probably because of some ridiculous sentiment about not wanting to destroy his late friend's remains. Instead of simply crushing me outright, he wanted to remove my brain from this body and take it back intact."

As Kenjaku spoke, he suddenly chuckled, as if remembering something amusing. "Ah, right, maybe it's also because of the date I mentioned for our final battle."

"Suguru Geto's death anniversary is December 24th—Christmas Eve. He probably wants to return his friend's body that day as some kind of tribute."

Uraume listened without any change in her cold, distant expression. She gave a flat, uninterested response. "Boring."

"It is boring, but that's what makes humans so interesting—they let themselves be controlled by these dull emotions."

As the two walked through the city, their outfits attracted plenty of stares. After all, it wasn't every day you saw someone strolling down the street in monk robes and a white shrine maiden outfit in the middle of October.

Now *that's* some dedication to cosplay.

Many passersby couldn't help but think that.

They entered a family restaurant, ordered dinner, and continued their conversation.

"Did you really destroy Tengen's barrier completely?" Uraume asked.

"Haha, of course not," Kenjaku chuckled. "I only damaged part of it—just enough to remove its sealing function. It can be fixed at any time."

"After all, we'll be needing it later."

Uraume looked at the black-haired man with a smile, as if staring at a sly old fox.

"So, what's the plan now?"

"For now, let's stay hidden. I'll head overseas to find some allies," Kenjaku said with a smile.

"After all, with the cards I have right now, it's still not enough to deal with Gojo Satoru."

…

After Tengen's barrier was broken, Japan seemed calm on the surface. However, the small butterfly that was Kenjaku had flapped its wings, setting off silent storms all over the world.

The number of cursed spirits began to surge globally. Overnight, millions of unexplained, gruesome murders took place across different countries.

News outlets and social media were flooded with reports about the sudden appearance of "ghost killers." The fear of the unknown and death caused negative emotions to spread even faster, which in turn strengthened cursed spirits even more, like a massive power boost.

As time passed, sorcerers began to emerge in different countries as well.

At first, those who awakened thought they had simply gained superpowers. Some used their abilities for crime and personal gain, while others, inspired by superhero movies, started acting like vigilantes. There were also those who didn't understand what was happening to them but sensed an invisible shift in the world—choosing to hide among the masses instead.

Fortunately, the number of newly awakened sorcerers wasn't too high, and most of them hadn't imprinted any techniques. They could use cursed energy but lacked actual techniques, while true natural-born sorcerers mostly appeared among newborns.

These naturally awakened children wouldn't develop their techniques until they were seven or eight years old, meaning they wouldn't impact society right away.

But even so, all of this was enough to throw the world into chaos.

Thankfully, existing sorcerer organizations in different countries acted quickly to contain the awakened individuals, while governments controlled or diverted public attention.

After a week of turmoil, the world seemed to have returned to its usual order.

But beneath the calm surface, undercurrents were stirring.

…

The vast grounds of the Tokyo Jujutsu High campus, spanning a massive area, had been nearly razed to the ground by Yukinoshita Yukino and Ryoumen Sukuna.

Barely any intact buildings remained, and the once-thriving forest now looked like it had been hit by a tornado, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.

Coincidentally, with the Kyoto branch about to merge with Tokyo, they decided to rebuild from scratch and expand the campus even further.

Under the joint recommendation of many first-grade sorcerers—along with a bit of "persuasion" from a certain special-grade sorcerer—Gakuganji was approved by the Jujutsu Headquarters to become the principal of both schools.

Actually, there weren't two schools anymore. It was now just one—Jujutsu High.

At the same time, another major issue had been forcibly suppressed by a certain white-haired man.

Jujutsu Headquarters had issued an immediate execution order for Itadori Yuji, who had lost control and been taken over by Ryoumen Sukuna.

Gojo Satoru argued with the higher-ups for a long time, but when negotiations went nowhere, his expression suddenly darkened. His voice grew cold as he said, "Then I guess I'll just have to kill all of you."

The elders sat in silence for two whole minutes before unanimously voting to revoke Itadori Yuji's execution, changing it to a suspended sentence instead.

Only then did the white-haired man grin and wave them off. "Oh, come on, I was just joking, esteemed elders~!"

But whether it was the Tokyo-Kyoto school merger, the campus expansion, or Gojo Satoru's battle of wits with the higher-ups—none of it had anything to do with Yukinoshita Yukino.

Host has learned Reverse Cursed Technique, reward: 50,000 points.

Defeated a grade 2 cursed spirit, gained 5,000 points.

Defeated a grade 1 cursed spirit, gained 7,500 points.

Defeated a grade 1 cursed spirit, gained 10,000 points.

Defeated a grade 3 curse user, gained 1,000 points.

Defeated…

After the battle at Jujutsu High, Yukinoshita Yukino had gained an incredible amount. Aside from the 50,000 points reward for mastering Reverse Cursed Technique, the sheer number of high-level cursed spirits sent against her had left the black-haired girl with a fortune in points.

Most of the cursed spirits had been exorcised by Yukinoshita Yukino. Just in the battle against Ryoumen Sukuna, many were wiped out by the shockwaves alone.

After this fight, Yukinoshita Yukino's accumulated points finally broke past the 500,000 mark, jumping from 470,000 to just over 650,000—rounding up, that was nearly 700,000!

She was now less than 400,000 points away from the 1,000,000 needed to merge the world lines.

Things were going smoothly.

Though earning points so easily made her happy, what puzzled Yukinoshita Yukino was that the system hadn't spoken to her in a long time.

The system's announcements were automatic, not personally delivered.

But she quickly set aside her doubts.

After enduring Ryoumen Sukuna's Domain, Yukinoshita Yukino had gained new insights into a fully developed Domain Expansion. It wouldn't be long before she figured it out and mastered it completely.

Once she did, she would truly step into the ranks of the strongest sorcerers!

…

The deep darkness was scattered with countless twinkling stars—distant suns radiating light and heat across the vast universe. Though they seemed close, each was separated by tens of thousands of light-years.

This was an endless cosmos, but not just that—it was the physical manifestation of a multidimensional world.

In this boundless space, where direction and dimension seemed meaningless, two golden parallel lines stretched infinitely, marking the passage of time.

Between these two never-crossing lines, a perfectly round, glowing blue orb moved back and forth.

From its surface extended thin, luminous blue threads, weaving between the parallel lines, connecting them together in a never-ending cycle—like a tireless worker bee, diligently tending to its task, almost endearing in its persistence.

As if exhausted, the glowing orb came to a stop atop one of the golden lines, motionless.

In that moment, loneliness and solitude filled the vast darkness completely.

After who knows how long, it started moving again, dragging its threads between the two parallel lines with a determined hum.
