"Kids from families like ours, a few years into working and it's time to marry; work is almost put on hold to have children, and life just goes like that. It's not easy to turn things around unless you marry a good husband."
Liang He asked with a smile that was not quite a smile, "A husband with money and power?"
He couldn't think of anything else that would count as a turning point for a family like hers.
"Yes," she said with a bitter smile. "But do you know Brother Liang? It's even harder to find such a good husband to turn your life around than it is to do it yourself. People from families like yours don't give a second glance to those of us from humble beginnings."
"Who says?" He raised an eyebrow. "As far as I know, many rich families' heirs marry women from not-so-good backgrounds and still get married. When love comes, family status and conditions are no longer the primary criteria."
