Mi Yao's delicate, fan-like eyelashes trembled, then she slowly opened her eyes.
Where was this?
Struggling, she sat up, her head throbbing with pain. She clasped her head with both small hands, her body aching, as if she had been run over by a train.
Right, she remembered now, the doctor and nurse had wanted to force an abortion on her...
Her child!
Her child!
She quickly touched her flat belly; was her child gone?
"Now you're so anxious, why did you want to get an abortion?" A deep, magnetic voice resounded at that moment.
Mi Yao turned her head and saw a tall man standing by the counter, arms crossed over his chest. There was no light on that side, and his entire presence was hidden in the darkness, his clear, cold eyes fixated on her face.
He seemed to be mocking her.
Mi Yao's lips parted as she attempted to speak, but no sound came out; her throat was so dry.
"Have some water." The man came over to her and handed her a cup of water.
