The streets of the castle town were swept clean and filled with cloaked crowds eagerly waiting everywhere. When the knights' procession, adorned with copper bells, passed through the city gates, the jugglers tossed holly berries into the cold sky, drawing the children to stand on tiptoe and scramble for them.
People had grown accustomed to the constant wedding chimes in and around Avalon throughout the year.
