Leng Kai and Wang Ye followed Lin Yan, moving towards the coordinates on a very quiet night street. Wang Ye, worried that enemy snipers might target them, left the main road and dove into a nearby alley.
Due to the tightly spaced mud houses, the three could only sidle through the gaps. Leng Kai occasionally looked up, recalling his undercover mission before retirement—the team had been eliminated by a surprise attack from above.
Emerging from the mouth of the alley, they saw several military trucks parked alongside the road, with about a dozen government soldiers dead on the ground, the trucks' sideboards covered in blood.
Leng Kai looked around for a while and then circled behind the trucks to check, while Wang Ye asked Lin Yan to crouch down and keep watch.
After a while, Leng Kai came around the other side of the trucks and said, "They weren't killed by a person, there are no bullet holes."
